Vivo is a brand with models that stand out from an average China phone. It is best known for audiophile phones and one of those is model X3S. (BBK owns other famous brands like Oppo and OPO (One Plus One)) This particular rom is ported from X3S, but what's more interesting is that Coolpad F1 and Vivo X3S have something in common: professional Hi-Fi DAC chip ES9018. You will find some nice features in phone's audio settings. Haven't tested that thoroughly but I was really impressed with the sound quality. What's out: Several useless China apps and weather app (China towns only) What's in: Google Play and services, UI language set to english, added useful apps (Quick Boot app, Miui file manager, APN setup app) What's bad: Camera doesnt shoot in full resolution and led notification is green :) Rom is very smooth, almost like AOSP although is filled with many features. It consumes 0.6 - 1.2GB RAM at average. You won't be dissapointed. I hope :) Download Installation instructions: - Download zip file (rom) and transfer that to SDcard - Turn on debugging on your phone, turn off quick boot, turn off phone (some folks remove battery now:)) - Press vol. up and power button together for at least 10 seconds. - You are in CWM now (probably) - Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition - Mounts and storage: Format System, Cache, Data. Go back - Advanced: Wipe Dalvik cache, Reboot recovery - Install zip from SDcard -> choose zip -> your rom (zip) - Reboot to system Leave your phone now for 5 minutes, let it take a breath. Funtouch has a kind of protection for Google apps but there is a solution. This is a very nice release and it can be flashed with several small hacks. Download the rom (it is wcdma) Download google framework app (specially prepared for Funtouch OS) Download Google apps - gapps for 4.2.2 roms and using 7-zip delete onetimeinitializer apk from System/app folder Prepare a root file explorer Move everything to SD card Flash the rom without gapps Start the rom and find language settings. It is in settings (gear icon in notifications) then wrench tool icon, then second item below blue switch (9th item) There you'll find English language Using file explorer, add this line to build.prop in the rom system folder ro.setupwizard.mode=DISABLED Using file explorer move that google framework app to your rom system/app folder and set the same permissions as other apk's have Turn off the phone and start your custom recovery Flash gapps Don't activate your google account or Play store yet. Start Google framework app (it will show in home screen by now) and touch green button - Install Gfs Then it tells you it'll reboot. There you are :) I have try this but without success. The gaps setup wizard is starting and is impossible to by pass it. You'll need a gallery apk like quickpic or install an all--in-one app like lenovo's Nova launcher as an alternative (stock one is kept), mobileuncle, light manager, quickboot, google keyboard, WSM tools Rom sound is superb, and has lots of customization possibilities in that area. It also could be trimmed down almost to aosp levels, if you care for that. I've stayed on a middle ground, but you'd find that you can still freeze/uninstall many things Post installation instructions: For gapps to work follow Dakok's guidelines in previous post Start Google framework app (it will show in home screen by now) and touch green button - Install Gfs Then it tells you it'll reboot. After reboot, go to settings and Accounts -> add account There you are :) Before switching your input to google's keyboard, change your locale with more locale 2 if you're not going to use english CONS: GPS could be faster (at least in my case), and led shoud have the 3 colors because it has the patch built in, but it's giving me only green.
