EXCLUSIVE: MPx220 slated for July release on Orange UK

In most every new spec release for the upcoming Motorola series of phones (MPX100, 220, etc) I've noticed there is only mention of polyphonic ringtones. Does anyone know if these phones support WMA ringers?

I apologize if this has already been asked, but I can't seem to find it anywhere!

Is WMA ringtones not one of the standard features of Windows Mobile Smartphones software? I'd be shocked if the Motos didn't support them.

yep. wma is a standard feature of windows mobile 2003 (and will be in SE), along with polyphonic midi and Wav.

The MPX100 allows MP3 ringtones according the specs on the Motorola site :D

to be honest, i dont see much point of mp3 ringtones, wma are practically the same thing and wma is microsofts compression standard

And wma provides the same quality at a bit rate lower than that of MP3's so filesize is often smaller :D

I went into the orange shop yesterday (23/6) and asked if they knew a time for a release, and it should be lunched at 15/9, but the date could be moved i were told.

Btw this is in Denmark....

Thanks all for the info on WMA ringers. I assumed this functionality was standard with the '03 OS but wasn't sure!
