Guest Colonel Trouble Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 I wonder how much it'll be sim free ...
Guest Vector Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 £300+ i would imagine, or something in that region?
Guest InMovil Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 That price seems to be pretty low i guess, here you can see the news when Orange released the SPV E200 sim free pack : http://www.msmobiles.com/news.php/50.html 700 € in Denmark (wow, thats a big packet of money) hope the new E500 gets much more cheap than that. :P
Guest Jakob Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Well, the C500 is supposed to cost 2499kr ~ 333€ sim-locked sold with a ½ year subscription. If you´ve been using Orange network for more than 6 months, then you extend your subscription with another 6 months - resulting in at least 1800kr ~ 240€ .. Which basically means that you can buy the C500 for 240+333 = 577€ in DK. /Jakob
Guest InMovil Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 Thaks Jakob, nice information, 577€ seems to be a reasonable price for the first weeks of release... anyway Denmark is a expensive country compared to other european countries and i guess (and hope) french price would be less, 400 to 500 € might be a more reasonable price but that is in ORANGE hands.
Guest InMovil Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 Good news: http://www.smartphone-web.com/modules.php?...article&sid=499 QTEK is launching the C500 hardware plataform, now named QTEK 8010 , but no info about release date or price, but is a nice news.
Guest Pagemakers Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 What counts, and whether I stick with a MS smartphone at all is how well the OS works. Sick of typing a SMS and a egg timer appering, sick of T9 problems. When someone can give definitive answers on these current bugbears then we can enter into 'my handset's bigger than yous' debates. I asked Mr O if the T9 bugs had been fixed in the C500 and he said he didn't know and would get back to me.....MR O ARE THEY FIXED? The T9 lost words issue for me is the biggest failing of the SPV to date.
Guest Simon Desser Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 I asked Mr O if the T9 bugs had been fixed in the C500 and he said he didn't know and would get back to me.....MR O ARE THEY FIXED? The T9 lost words issue for me is the biggest failing of the SPV to date. But he was ONLY the head of handset development at Orange (or something like that) making regular trips to HTC in Taiwan, he can't be expected to know if they've fixed the t9 bug :P :D
Guest fozzie Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 I asked Mr O if the T9 bugs had been fixed in the C500 and he said he didn't know and would get back to me.....MR O ARE THEY FIXED? What a surprise - Pagemakers shouting and whinging again. How constructive!
Guest Pondrew Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Fozzie: nothing wrong with asking the question. Not worth a flaming surely?
Guest beersoft Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 i would just like to say, i think it looks better in silver http://www.msmobilenews.com/?cid=595 later Owen
Guest The Futures Bright Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 I agree entirely, the silver version is much nicer than the drab orange offering. :P
Guest Pagemakers Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 What a surprise - Pagemakers shouting and whinging again. How constructive! Fozzie get a life. Your comments are not always the most constructive either. For your benefit I will re-phrase my question. "mr o are they fixed yet"? There was that quiet and nice and cuddly enough for you?
Guest Dr Who Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Why, oh why, oh why are they not releasing it in silver - it looks ace!
Guest rhaleuk Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Hhhm, I actually think its nice to see a handset in black. And Orange does seem to try and give off a professional image - which black kindof adheres to more. Each to their own though.
Guest alancollins Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 what frame rate does the video capture at?
Guest rubric Posted August 1, 2004 Report Posted August 1, 2004 Am I the only one who thinks the C500 reminds me of the Nokia 2100? http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,4582,00.html Don't wish to comment on the C500, but the 2100 is butt ugly.
