Guest The Undefeated Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 No fix, thats not fair, just have to play the music quieter i suppose
Guest joelb69 Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 has anyone solved this issue yet? does anyone still care? ive given up any hope of finding a solution.
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 I've just spent an hour listening to music / playing games and enjoyed perfect sound. Sorry mate
Guest flywest Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 What about the T-mobile SDA music? A phone specifically designed for playing music. Wont this phone have the same problem if it is a hardware problem??
Guest pharma79 Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 i own imate sp3 . confirm that i have the same problem too .just wasted my money . i could almost buy any other phone on market but see what i got here :)
Guest Confucious Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 pharma78 - welcome to the forums. If it means that much to you and you've only just bought the phone, can't you return it and get your money back? Apart from this problem which I don't appear to have on my C500 (but, I must admit, I don't listen to a lot of music on it) the phone is great. I hope it doesn't spoil your enjoyment but, like I say, if that was one of your major criteria most places (at least in the UK) give a period where you can get your money back so you could get something more suitable.
Guest pharma79 Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 hi im in middle east and here we dont have right to return items. any way i dont know about you but paying 500$ for a phone isnt something i can just forget when it cant even do the adverised features properly. i understand your viewpoint on this matter as you (as you say) are free of this , but put yourself in our point pls anyway i contacted carrierdevices(clubimate) and by now they say its not a known problem in their devices. i cant imagine how big loss this can mean to them if its prooved :x i continue negotiation. :)
Guest pharma79 Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 ... and my device also has the dust problem, and long service refresh time problems mentioned here . i really liked this phone at first (and still do) but this are some problrms that arent acceptable on a +400$ phone .hope you dont oppose  and i have been a reader of this site for more than a year just didnt post till now :)
Guest peekie Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 my c500 does not suffer from the sound problem , and for the dust press around the screen when you first get your phone , it worked for me
Guest outofthisworld Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 dear peekie, now that is so nice if you do not have this problem then just shut up, in this thread we are looking for people who have this problem and are trying to find solutions, not for stupid comments like, i have an spv c500 it works well, i love my spv, :) :( the world is beautiful, i am so smart etc...
Guest Confucious Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 People reading this thread might be lead to believe that thios problem affecs all typhoons, to tell someone to "shut up" is neither useful nor helpful. Peekie was only trying to help and to try and censor someone is not your job outofthisworld. I do not have this problem with my phone which neither makes the world beautiful or me smart but it does prove that not all phones suffer from this fault.
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 Though we understand your frustration outofthisworld, I have to add a Moderators agreement to Confucious' post. It doesn't help to start dissing other members, particularly not someone who has given a lot of good advice on this forum. I hope you find a solution soon mate :)
Guest outofthisworld Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 again, i am sorry, i had a couple of glasses of chianti. it is not the chianti s mistake, but mine. :? still hoping for a solution for all of us with the tss problem.

Guest pharma79 Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 no one here tries to offend , its just a matter of frustration as the one who sould be hearing -htc- doesnt care much about after sale support . i hope some user find a way around this prob. plssss
Guest pharma79 Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 i got a mail from CD saing they are investigaring problem . i think it is a positive sign and hope they sort it .
Guest pharma79 Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 CARRIER DEVICES, and please dont ask how they are :)
Guest red1mp Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Sorry guys but... There will be no fix. IT IS A HARDWARE PROBLEM! Posted from my SmartPhone! Hi if it's hardware why aren't all C500's the same. Mine worked OK for the first 3 weeks then the TSS suddenly appeared. That sound more like a software issue to me, how can hardware be so inconsistent. Surely the hardware does what the software asks it to do. :?
Guest red1mp Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 hi im in middle east and here we dont have right to return items. any way i dont know about you but paying 500$  for a phone isnt something i can just forget when it cant even do the adverised features properly. i understand your viewpoint on this matter as you (as you say) are free of this , but put yourself in our point pls anyway i contacted carrierdevices(clubimate) and by now they say its not  a known problem in their devices.  i cant imagine how big loss this can mean to them if its prooved  :x  i continue  negotiation. :) Hi I agree with you, goods should meet specifications as advertised. To many people on this site have made comments like if you want an MP3 player then buy one, most functions on this phone work fine. This phone is supposed to play MP3 music and films and in no advert I've seen does it say in many cases audio output is distorted by a tssss noise. In my opinion we have been taken for a ride, I agree it is a reasonable phone but the fact is it doesn't work properly in many instance and there is no getting away from that. It's about time Orange/SPV came clean.
Guest Confucious Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 I am inclined to think that it is a hardware problem for the very reason that it does NOt affect all phones and can sudenly appear. The fact that those of you have the noise in all apps seems to sugest a hardware fault as well. Not having heard the fault myself, could it be something like electrical interference from a lose or faulty connection? Or possibly the speaker working lose or something. The facts that it can occur on new phones and other people with what appears to be exactly tha same software do NOT get the noise and that it doesn't seem to have a common cause all lead me to sugest that it is probably hardware, not software related. I could, of course be wrong.
Guest red1mp Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 See your point, I've been involved in Electrical Engineering for 30 years and find it strange that a hardware fault on something that doesn't move ie rotate can be so cyclic in that it happens at approx 10sec intervals. Whereas some sort of software conflict could possibly cause this on an audio output. Something must happen causing some of these phones to make this noise, mine was a clear as a bell then suddenly there the tss was at about 10 sec intervals. When it first occured it did so on MP3 played through media player, films via Beta Player were OK then suddenly it appeared on Beta Player. Could there be a conflict betweeen the two programs?????? :-k
Guest Confucious Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 I tend to agee with you about the cyclical nature sugesting a software rather than hardware fault but, I believe some people have this problem on brand new phones without any other software (unless I'm mistaken) and I have Beta player and (so far, touch wood) do not have the problem. Also, from what I gather the start of the noise occuring does not seem related to installing new software but appears random which again makes me lean towards the hardware fault theory.
Guest pharma79 Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 i have a problem : If it HW , then 1. why not every unit seems to suffer from it ? 2. why different people have different intervals?(mine has 17 sec int.) if software 1. then why it doesnt go away by a Hardreset ? 2. arent all roms the same ? so again its not a prob to every one?
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 Can I get some ketchup for my humble pie ! Mine's started doing it...
