was havin the same problem with my new mpx220 and it was pissing me off, but then somethin just hit me, maybe its not accepting high res images as external lcd photocaller id, so i tried taking a new pic of my friend at one of the smaller resolutions, attached to contact, and VOILA it worked!

i dunno if this was a fluke or if im technically correct, but just try lowering the resolution of the pic you take for photo contact if u want it to show up on the external lcd

Yes - it worked. Try setting your resolution to 320x240 max when taking photos for photo caller ID. There is no need to reset your phone to factory settings (thank goodness!).

Photos appear on the external screen of my Mpx220 staight out of the box no problems at all

I still have the 1.30 firmware and pictures display fine. Could be the software that you are using for your contacts. 1280 x 960 is my resolution and I havent had a problem yet with the photo contacts not displaying on the external lcd.
