Guest L33 Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Still, will wait and see what the 'truth' is and not the rumour. I'd hope that an email from the business team to a business customer is the truth! Guess it won't be long now until we find out though.
Guest Fleabag Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 To be honest there's very little chance of that being the case... price wise I mean. Anyway, I've had a fiddle with a V2 today, it's fab.

I ordered these last week but only today have T-M confirmed the price of the units. Forgot to add the tariffs are Flext 25 with w 'n w pro as well (so 35 ish a month). Edited August 21, 2006 by L33
Guest Confucious Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Is that an upgrade price? How many other phones do you have with them?

No point having this fantastic phone without the w'n'w! Don't need the PRO do we? The normal W'n'W will do for the high speed Internet access, wont it?

The normal W'n'W will do for the high speed Internet access, wont it? I'm more worried about data usage so I thought Pro would settle my fears. We want to sync with Exchange server most of the time (Push isn't an option at the moment) so I guess there may well be a lot of data transferred. The price I've been quoted are not upgrade prices, these are new contracts.
Guest Confucious Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 But Pro is limited to 2Gb whereas standard is unlimited......

Guest FlangeArtist Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 But Pro is limited to 2Gb whereas standard is unlimited...... Does seem strange that the PRO package is limited where as the standard is not. However, my basic understanding of the PRO over the standard is that you get a data card for the laptop/computer and can use it as a modem for the cumputer and you are allowed to stream data (sure there are more, but for Joe Blog user, this is the main difference). Probably the reason for the data limit.
Guest The Doctor Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I thought it was 2GB on Pro but 1GB on standard (fair use). They're both 2GB FUP (fair usage policy). Pro has less restrictions and had a higher uplink speed and allows HSDPA access Phil
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I thought regular WnW was 1GB AUP. Admittedly I can't actually be bothered to check :D :D P
Guest Confucious Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 There is no limiyt on the standard version! Pro has a 2Gb limit because you can use as a modem and therefore potentially downloat vast amounts of data if there was no cap. The data card is called W'n'W Pro but we are refering to W'n'W Pro Bundle which is

Guest Confucious Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Strange interpritation of a 2Gb limit which is only mentiuoned for the Pro version - How do you relate that to the standard version just because the standard version alsio has a FUP?
Guest Syphon Filter Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I have just called T-Mobile and had HSDPA put onto my account. This DID NOT affect my tariff, I asked if my bill would be altered and I was told that no it would the same as before. Just to confirm (as Fleabag told us). You DO NOT need WnW Pro to have HSDPA. I have Flext35+WnW Regular and am now using 3G at HSDPA speeds. Did a quick test and found the following: test 1: 953kbps test 2: 710kbps test 3: 740kbps test 4: 934kbps test 5: 930kbps

Because nowhere do T-Mobile clarify what the FUP on the standard is. The only reason you interpret that as being "under" the pro package is where its sitting on the site. If you imagine its an error in the layout of the page it reads: Web Edited August 21, 2006 by L33

Yeah I think its just the modem access etc that Pro allows you to have. I've gone for that as our phones are business phones and may be used for this activity. I am sure there were threads on here a few days ago clarifing that HSDPA did not require WnW Pro....?
Guest L33 Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I have just been told the phones are IN STOCK and I have 2 on the way for the morning! :D
Guest gingerprince Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I have just been told the phones are IN STOCK and I have 2 on the way for the morning! :D Do you know if they're avaiable with Copilot bundled?
Guest L33 Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Do you know if they're avaiable with Copilot bundled? Sorry, no idea. I can't see why not though as its just something they bundle in. I have seen it priced with Co-Pilot elsewhere too.
Guest sameerabedi Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Has anyone seen it on any website as being available? If so, anyone got a link?
Guest Fleabag Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 It's in stock. Upgrades only at the moment though.
Guest FlangeArtist Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 It's in stock. Upgrades only at the moment though. Has any existing T-Mobile customer tried to go to the T-Mobile Web site and select 'Upgrade' to see if the Vario 2 is available?? You need to be an existing user to do this. http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/Dispatcher?menuid=shop_uyp
Guest farmgorgon Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 It IS now in stock to new personal customers. I bought one about 20 mins ago. At the start of the call there were 90 units available. 10 minutes later, there were 73!
