Omnia II i8000 ROM Download (English /Chinese version ( Simplify/Traditional)19/Sept Updated

Software PointuiHome 2.1 + Hero Theme on Omnia II

1. Download & install 20090829_Pointui.Home2.1.06c.VGA.WVGA.Pro.Latest.cab (PH2) into "My Storage".
   
2. Do not launch PH2 upon installation, instead go to Today to untick Samsung WidgetPlus and tick Pointui Home 2.
   
3. Use the Lite version if you dont have Pro version serial (just click CANCEL when prompt again).
   
4. Download, unzip & replace original Home2 in \My Storage\Program Files\Home2 with Hero Theme Home2 from http://rapidshare.com/files/273858801/2009...0.0.4.x.VGA.zip as current Hero Theme do not have a installation cab.
   
5. Launch PH2 and click on "+" to bring up the Applets page, click at the "-" on top right corner and remove all the default applets.
   
6. Click on "+" to add PointSenseScreen 1 to 4. You can use the last 2 to add PointSenseScreen 5 and 6 for your own shortcuts.
   

This is taken from KingMobile and the instructions were in Chinese, this is the best i can translate, so pls enjoy it. They claimed quite unstable when adding shortcuts in PointSenseScreen 5 and 6 so i personally only use PointSenseScreen 1 to 3.

I flashed mine with H9 (CSC, EBOOT, PDA) but even if I chose english language

when in landscape mode the numbers come in chinese characters and there is no way to switch back to the english ones

In normal mode sometimes when the keyboard comes on for texting has chinese characters but if I hit the "abc" button to change characters switches back to english characters.

Also I noticed that in landscape mode the keyboard it is much harder to press, half of the times when I press a letter the phone acknowledges it and sounds the typing but the letter doesn't show and I have to press it again and harder to make it show.

Anyone else got this problem ?

Any version can works on your phone ,that should be a"Right ROM". My Omnian ROM version show as below photo.

Hi guys, i just joined and would like some help please. Having read a few forums i'm not sure what firmware/ROMs I can upgrade to for Windows 6.1, not the secany 6.5 upgrade. I'm in the UK so english speaking.

The Omnia 2 is an international version and is as follows

PDA: I8000XXIG1

CSC: I8000FAMIG2

PHONE: I8000XXIG1

Some tips on what ROMs i should upgrade to would be really good. I will then attempt my virgin Rom upgrade!!

Can any one help me with which files I need and the corresponding instructions for installation? All I know is that I need an english version rom. :)

No offence, since as you say you are new here, but there is 3 threads pinned to the mainpage of this forum dedicated to how to flash your phone. If you search through the thread history there is another 10. Heck, if you read through this thread there is instructions. Just read.

As a hint, start with secany's i8000 Rom's thread pinned to the top of this forum. That has all the WM6.5 Roms. If you read, you'll learn a lot and save alot of questions which have been answered already about 50 times.

I have been here before where you are now and I always got correct steps but not the details that a newbee needs. Well now i am six upgrades older on my Omnia II.

Tell me what all you got and where you are confused and I will walk you through the tinest of details. Do not hesitate to ask me any question.

To begin with tell me the 6.5 rom that you have downloaded and we will pick it from there.

I suggest you downlad Secany's rom http://www.modaco.com/content-page/293492/...0-rom/page/680/#

along with Octans and 7zip file manager. Let me know once done and we will begin the process then.
