Guest carmod Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Very good review. Only problems with the review were that the processor is actually 800mhz and not 667Mhz as the review and Omnia II does have tv out :D ...Any way, the link is below http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i8000_omni...-review-388.php

By the way, as a general response to all those users that contact us claiming the Omnia II CPU clock speed is actually 800MHz instead of 667Mhz, we just have to say that Samsung have not officially revealed the actual numbers. In the same time however, the official data sheet of the ARM11-based CPU used clearly states that the maximum clock for the platform is 667MHz. We think that should be enough to clear up the issue. Guest carmod Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 If you download technical sheet of processor S3C6410 of Omnia II from the following link http://www.samsung.com/global/system/busin...c6410_rev40.pdf you will find that processor can operate on following speed as below •533MHz @1.1V •667MHz @1.2V •800MHz @1.3V This proves why Omnia II has CPU performance throttling feature (Low,High..etc)

A lot of proof already showing GSMArena point to a wrong CPU, check below for details: http://www.samsung.com/global/business/sem....do?fmly_id=229 http://www.facebook.com/SamsungOmnia2?v=ap...iewas=813396384 And also the great review done by NewForce, which clearly show it is 800Mhz: http://www.eprice.com.tw/mobile/talk/?prod...=1&rt=87619 Auto = 815 Mhz High = 845Mhz Normal = 400 Mhz Low = 270 Mhz
Guest -Vulture- Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 The Samsung i8000 Omnia II handles messaging excellently. It supports SMS, MMS and email. SMS and MMS share an inbox and a nicely intuitive message editor. Threaded SMS is also available on the Omnia II, just as it has been since the appearance of the Windows Mobile 6.1. Threaded Messaging? In the samsung sms application or do they mean the standard windows mobile threaded messaging?
Guest carmod Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 The reviewed Omnia II device was running updated version of TouchWiz UI under WM 6.5 so maybe the threaded messages problem was fixed by Samsung :D
Guest MUYAMAN Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Win 6.5??? MAn can't wait to update my i8000! :D Looks very responsive and no lag in the video by GSMarena
Guest alvinaloy Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 Seems GSMArena did not mention a lot of the faults and flaws that folks have been complaining about. Hopefully they have been fixed.

Every other review on 3d perfomance for the processor (comparing to other phones) said it has 4M t/s... if this sheet is accurate (and it should be since it's on samsungs site) this is really good news :D
Guest carmod Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 Yes this is great news and the sheet is correct..

Is it a mistake or not?

Guest hdubli Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 I already point out one important thing that omnia2 has dualport RAM, means 2 slots with two connection to CPU..this is a god thing indeed
