I am in HK atm and could check for you in the afternoon as I will be going that way.

What exactly are you looking to get ? or repaired ?

Of course there is also a Samsung Service Center that could fix your problem without having to resort to unknown parts and/or workmanship.

Do you know where is the Samsung service center and do you think they can help ?

(In Europe, there is no way for foreign Samsung phone)

Ok, I have saved the pic to the phone and will show it around the place and see if anyone has it for sale. Or whether they can also replace it for you and the cost if available.

Samsung Service Center - I think the HK one is in Causeway Bay.

As for repairs of non-local bought SS phones do a search in the i900 forum. I recall one guy who had a Singapore bought phone that required fixing in the USA and he did manage to get it fixed - but after a lot of emails etc. Even wrote/called Samsung Korea direct to get what he wanted. He listed a bunch of useful emails to write to.

One thing that is important to mention is that there are no restrictions on where people can buy a phone. So if I originally bought one in London, SS has a responsibility to repair it should it be broken while I am using it in say Toronto. The kind of attitude you mention is really bad service and maybe one should speak to a manager type person instead of the frontdesk people.

The HK place said there are 2 screens on the phone - the touch panel and the LCD. The one in the picture will cost about 500hkd.

From your above post it seems you have already found a repair shop.

In any case if you do need to come to HK, contact this guy for phone stuff and repairs. I have known him a number of years and he is reliable and helpful.

I just come back from Hong Kong ====> SAME !

I arrive in the tower around 12H30, but most of shops open at 13H30.

I ask everywhere ... "This phone is too new" "can't do !"

I ask also for what time "Wilson" open : " 3 PM" !

At least at 15H30 I came back to Wilson .... And he take my phone, open it, do not trust me and thinking about power problem ... then I proove him !

Then he phones one or two time ... then I ear him speak to me for the first time and the last time : "No" .... Only one word from him ! :(

So I still have broken LCD !

:)
