It's the stock kernel built with a custom config, no code changes to the kernel itself. Not sure if the .config file is covered under the GPL, but just in case, i'll make posting that a priority.

Ah cool - thats all I need to know then... I can get going...

Cheers

You could try copying the /system/framework/framework-res.apk from the T-Mo ROM to the U8230 ROM, that might well do the trick... backup first obviously! :)

Wrong digest error. Verification failed.

No such luck ;)

Just installed this rom into the Pulse.

It feels a little slower on the desktop but then I am running dxTop so that might not be helping much.

I will play with it a bit longer...

Phil.

BTW the bootsplashes that Klutsh did over at my bootsplash thread might be good for when you next update the ROM...

Ok, I decided to roll back to the December update in order to wipe everything off, re-installed the ROM then restored my stuff and now it is running a lot faster.

I am a happy bunny now... :)

Phil.

Wouldn't mind considering this!

1) does google maps work 100%

2) and is the - headphone plugin then automatically music on - bug sorted?

3) is there any problems with the apps on sd card or do you still have the problem where if you take out the memory card you have to go to recovery and click repair ext partition each time?

In addition to the textures being incorrect on the google search bar, the Touch Pal keyboard textures are stretched Paul

It's specifically the Del/backspace texture that's stretched.

Wow, awesome!

Beta 2 certainly seems better than 1, images in the right places, and none of the initial force closes that I had on 1.7 b1 happened.

Just curious - what is it in general that is giving the speed kick?

First of all this is based on the .66 release ROM rather than the .66 test ROM, but i'm going through and optimising everything I can think of too...

I'm getting force closes from Java with this one(beta3) not done much other than install it and reboot a couple of times.

I'll let you know if anything else happens.

The specific message is:

"The application Java (process com.esmertec.android.jbed) has stopped unxpectedly. Please try again."

Not that that really adds much :)

Just installed 1.7 beta 3, and it seems to be working fine. I got a single "force close" on TouchPal on first boot, but after ignoring that, it is working a treat.

Noticeably faster too!

Cheers Paul, I took out an "Ad Free" subscription today for this beta release, and am so far happy I did.

Louis
