Guest rodrigofd Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 hi rodrigofd, after you have installed 2.5, do you mind let us which part does not work? personally, i don't mind if "picture and video", "music" and "footprint" or even the "settings" tab don't work. i can use latest Resco Picture Viewer to replace the "picture and video" tab Samsung Touch Player is actually better than HTC Audio Manager alot. "Footprint" seems not quite useful "Settings", i think i will not frequently change settings. if i need to change settings, i can tap the top bar to gain easy access to all of them. On the other hand, i will always use the Clock, Text Messaging, Email, People, Calendar, or if possible the Twitter Tab I like the HTC People Page which can consolidate all the information regarding to a person and also the HTC implementation of Threaded Messaging. see how good is the Manila 2.5 on our i8000 finger cross Well, just to update you with some info about 2.5 in i8000... First of all, up to date there is only ONE 2.5 build that cares to boot up in Omnia2, that is using Ginkage dlls... This is the one Chainfire and I are trying to make usable... At the same time, i asked Ginkage to try to make latest , LEO-shipped 2.5 version to run with his libraries.... let's hope he succeeds on this..i wouldn't be surprised if he does, as he already managed far enough ... Going back to the one 2.5 that works, fist let me tell you it's an older 2.5 build, so it hasn't got all 2.5 functionality, as chainfire already posted, e.g. no twitter tab, i believe weather doesn't show in home tab, etc... all which it is included in the last build currently not working... I've managed to get working home tab with shortcuts, some calendar, some settings, and weather.. People tab is complicated... you can display favorites, and contact list... i even make to display contact details, with if you try to edit them , it crashes... I'll be posting a youtube demo so you can see for yourself.... stay tuned!!!
Guest rodrigofd Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 BTW, for the ones with uninstall issues, let me tell you that Manila packages are very hard to uninstall.... there are tons of files involved, so not only it'll last very long to remove it, but it might also fail with no details.... So manila testing should be reserved for people willing to try it out, and hard reset if necessary... Always do backups....
Guest SpiderXt Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 can someone provide some instructions for how to remove please ? except for hard reset of phone ? Thanks

The show settings work....but the remove part is the same as when i try to delete it using samsung's setting. i wait for a wait then it beeps and exits the remove program screen but to the start menu. when i go back to the remove program screen, TouchFlo3D is still there and there is a message saying that "xxx was not completely removed.Do you want to remove it from the list of installed programs ?" Nothing happens when i click yes and the program is still in the list. Do i have to disable it in order to uninstall ?

Yes ! i deleted it finally. i disabled it from Today and tried to uninstall it with the default windows mobile settings, but it failed. Guest naTpuoT87 Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Chainfire Hi! Any news about 2.5.? May be HD2's Manila?:-)
Guest da_mafkeez Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 yes, please give us an update :) i check every hour this forum for my b7610 :D
Guest Chainfire Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Well here's a grim update, I've tried hard but I can't seem to resolve a few of the _major_ issues with all 2.x builds I've tried (and that somewhat work) so far. Perhaps Rodrigo has had some more success, I don't know.
Guest rodrigofd Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Well, last days, i dedicated to try to make latest 2.5 leo shipped version to work ... Yesterday I got 'little' hope, as i spotted an issue with ginkage DLL in latest Manila 2.5 build... and he actually fixed the OpenGL issue, but manila still doesn't boot up... Maybe in latest versions, they coded a device-check or something like that.. its like it 'refuses' to load.... So i'll go back to the 2.5 build that actually worked a bit, ... maybe if i can make any progress...
