sorry if this is a bit off-topic, but since sorg have not replied my PM...

can someone tell me if I wish to flash. I could just flash the PDA file, without the CSC right?

and im using Windows 7 x64, so does the method sorg posted works with OCTANS MINI or just normal OCTANS DOWNLOADER?

Here is another official Samsung's ROM.

Since some people have problems with IJD/IJE ROM, may be this version will work better for them.

CSC_I8000NXXIJC.CSC and Eboot_I8000NXXIJC_HW_40.eb0:

http://rapidshare.com/files/303714888/CSC_...I8000NXXIJC.rar

PDA_I8000NXXIJC_HW_40.MST:

http://rapidshare.com/files/303709379/PDA_...XXIJC.part2.rar

You don't have to flash CSC and/or EBoot.

You may use other CSC, or don't flash it at all.

That's why PDA part has been uploaded separately.

Thanks Sorg!!! :) :D :D

Thanks for the reply monyozt! so I can basically just flash PDA and retain my language CSC.

anyways what is the Phone firmware for?

and as for flashing on windows 7, I am just wondering does the method just works for OCTANS downloader or OCTANS MINI or both? as I know I should be able to flash using Win7 x64.

All 64 bit OS are not supported as there are no appropriate drivers for it.

Very likely he did not reply as this was mentioned almost everywhere in this forum.

sorg posted a thread about flashing the phone on windows 7 where there's drivers for 64-bit.

people tested and they say it works.

Could you guide me to the link of sorg's thread?

I remember others flashing their phones in 64bit environment but only via Virtual Machine running a 32bit OS (VMWare, VirtualBox) and I couldn't recall of an appropriate 64bit driver for it.

I would really like to give it a shot.

The Windows build is same as IK1/2

But for me, I recommended IJC as it don't have the memory leak issue I face in IJD or IK1.

IJ3 if i remember right.

Could you upload if you have of course ? I remember from HTC ( rilphone, rilgsm ) that rom works better with original radio ( battery life etc ). Now I have IJ4 rev 4 installed.

I was wondering if there's any special setup needed if I want to flash over VMWare? I have VMWare with XP 32-bit currently and I would love to use that for compatibility purpose.

any ideas?

I don't think that is possible. OCTANS won't stop you thats for sure but once the phone boots up, its anybody's guess.....

Hello,

i have updated my Omnia to IK2. After restart I couldn't found the option to activate TouchWiz.

Then I flashed it to IJC... but also there I can't find the TochWiz in options-menu...

Has anyone an idea how I can active TouchWiz?

If you mean to launch TouchWiz by pressing the "start menu" on the top left of your screen... you can not do it, they removed the option (good choice btw^^)

You can still launch it by pressing the cube button (or any other buttons if you remap them).

What do you mean you cannot activate TouchWiz?

If you're talking about the Samsung menu, then.. it's no longer available in WinMo 6.5

In this version if you click Start, you will automatically use WinMo layout..

If you want to use Samsung's menu layout you have to click the "cube" button.

I'm stupid! :D Thanks for your help.

I don't know why but I clicked on "start" always and didn't used the cube.

When I got my Omnia (with IJ9 with win 6.5) I could active and deactive TouchWiz in options-menu and click on start.

It's also okay for me to click on the cube only :)

Thanks!

What is the Phone part version that was released with this IJC ROM? Isn't it advisable to stick with the set that Samsung publish together? I'm just assuming that mixing differing versions may cause problems so it would be best to stick to the combination that Samsung released as a set.
