Guest zm. Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 sorry if this is a bit off-topic, but since sorg have not replied my PM... can someone tell me if I wish to flash. I could just flash the PDA file, without the CSC right? and im using Windows 7 x64, so does the method sorg posted works with OCTANS MINI or just normal OCTANS DOWNLOADER?

Guest VincentNguyen Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 Here is another official Samsung's ROM. Since some people have problems with IJD/IJE ROM, may be this version will work better for them. CSC_I8000NXXIJC.CSC and Eboot_I8000NXXIJC_HW_40.eb0: http://rapidshare.com/files/303714888/CSC_...I8000NXXIJC.rar PDA_I8000NXXIJC_HW_40.MST: http://rapidshare.com/files/303679071/PDA_...XXIJC.part1.rar http://rapidshare.com/files/303709379/PDA_...XXIJC.part2.rar You don't have to flash CSC and/or EBoot. You may use other CSC, or don't flash it at all. That's why PDA part has been uploaded separately. Thanks Sorg!!! :) :D :D
Guest zm. Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 u can flash PDA+CSC+EBOOT+phonepart at same time or just PDA part or just PDA+phone or just PDA+CSC etc for using windows 7, search mr srog guide how to flash with win 7 Thanks for the reply monyozt! so I can basically just flash PDA and retain my language CSC. anyways what is the Phone firmware for? and as for flashing on windows 7, I am just wondering does the method just works for OCTANS downloader or OCTANS MINI or both? as I know I should be able to flash using Win7 x64.

All 64 bit OS are not supported as there are no appropriate drivers for it. Very likely he did not reply as this was mentioned almost everywhere in this forum. Edited November 9, 2009 by bluhound

Could you guide me to the link of sorg's thread? I remember others flashing their phones in 64bit environment but only via Virtual Machine running a 32bit OS (VMWare, VirtualBox) and I couldn't recall of an appropriate 64bit driver for it. I would really like to give it a shot.

No wonder I overlooked it, the attachment shows XP64bit. I am on Windows 64bit. Anyway, I'll give it a try later. Driver signatures....that's gonna be quite a headache. :)
Guest sabayanko Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 (edited) Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional CS OS 5.2.21868 (Build 21868.5.0.69) Looks like an untouched release. isn't it older then xxik1 ???? Edited November 9, 2009 by sabayanko

Guest AndrewTan Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 isn't it older then xxik2 ???? The Windows build is same as IK1/2 But for me, I recommended IJC as it don't have the memory leak issue I face in IJD or IK1.
Guest blues55 Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 sorg, which phone part is originally released with IJC ? I'm using your rom and seems gooood :) BTW. I'm looking for B7300 firmware .
Guest jazzz0904 Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 Sorry to ask. So can I use a 6.1/H9 csc with a 6.5/JC pda to flash my phone? u can flash PDA+CSC+EBOOT+phonepart at same time or just PDA part or just PDA+phone or just PDA+CSC etc for using windows 7, search mr srog guide how to flash with win 7

Guest blues55 Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 IJ3 if i remember right. Could you upload if you have of course ? I remember from HTC ( rilphone, rilgsm ) that rom works better with original radio ( battery life etc ). Now I have IJ4 rev 4 installed.

I have VMWare with XP 32-bit currently and I would love to use that for compatibility purpose. any ideas?
Guest bluhound Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Sorry to ask. So can I use a 6.1/H9 csc with a 6.5/JC pda to flash my phone? I don't think that is possible. OCTANS won't stop you thats for sure but once the phone boots up, its anybody's guess.....
Guest dr_zoidberg Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Hello, i have updated my Omnia to IK2. After restart I couldn't found the option to activate TouchWiz. Then I flashed it to IJC... but also there I can't find the TochWiz in options-menu... Has anyone an idea how I can active TouchWiz?
Guest tacchan23 Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Hello, i have updated my Omnia to IK2. After restart I couldn't found the option to activate TouchWiz. If you mean to launch TouchWiz by pressing the "start menu" on the top left of your screen... you can not do it, they removed the option (good choice btw^^) You can still launch it by pressing the cube button (or any other buttons if you remap them).
Guest Omnius Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Hello, i have updated my Omnia to IK2. After restart I couldn't found the option to activate TouchWiz. Then I flashed it to IJC... but also there I can't find the TochWiz in options-menu... Has anyone an idea how I can active TouchWiz? What do you mean you cannot activate TouchWiz? If you're talking about the Samsung menu, then.. it's no longer available in WinMo 6.5 In this version if you click Start, you will automatically use WinMo layout.. If you want to use Samsung's menu layout you have to click the "cube" button.
Guest dr_zoidberg Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 I'm stupid! :D Thanks for your help. I don't know why but I clicked on "start" always and didn't used the cube. When I got my Omnia (with IJ9 with win 6.5) I could active and deactive TouchWiz in options-menu and click on start. It's also okay for me to click on the cube only :) Thanks!

You may use other CSC, or don't flash it at all. That's why PDA part has been uploaded separately. What is the Phone part version that was released with this IJC ROM? Isn't it advisable to stick with the set that Samsung publish together? I'm just assuming that mixing differing versions may cause problems so it would be best to stick to the combination that Samsung released as a set.
