Guest Epsylon3 Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 My tool doesnt write anything except when you change CPU speed... CPU Speed is reset when your device go to sleep mode... (because cpu is downclocked in sleep mode by the drivers...) I will add soon command line support, and a way to save speed...
Guest lpachuong Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 Hahaha. this is cool. Has anyone got any idea of cooling down the fone?
Guest Epsylon3 Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 Hahaha. this is cool. Has anyone got any idea of cooling down the fone? on my phone, there is an adhesive copper sheet on top of cpu, which take the heat to the aluminium "box" which covers chips but i think we need to tune the voltage regulator to get a highter frequency, especially for my device, the M900 which is at 533 Mhz...

Guest Epsylon3 Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 28 Nov 2009 - v1.2c Added Shortcut Tool to set speed in one click Added support for GA2 and LOUVRE platforms http://tanguy.ath.cx/index.php?q=GPIOgfx
Guest Chainfire Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 Thanks, will test on GA2 Monday when I'm back where the phone is, haha.
Guest Chainfire Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 Also, any chance of making this into a small agile app? All this framework etc..
Guest soundsys Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 (edited) Running fast on my O2 @ 920mhz it hangs @ 900mhz stable Secanys k5 rom and spb ms 3.5 thanks Edited November 28, 2009 by soundsys
Guest Epsylon3 Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 (edited) yes, i will make a tiny tool based on HaReT interface later... this framework permit me to implement new kind of things in some seconds... and the next version of this framework adds android support :D Edited November 28, 2009 by Epsylon3
Guest soundsys Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 update: @920mhz works fine, i found the phone hangs when entering/exiting gpio after a o/c working now @940mhz, stable
Guest taril Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 (edited) I dont sugest to overclock the CPU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 800 MHz is totally enough!!!! Edited November 30, 2009 by taril

Guest Breit Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 I dont sugest to overclock the CPU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 800 MHz is bare enough!!!! what makes you say that? is it just like '640kb is enough ram for anything for a pc'? just kidding... :D

Guest xos84292 Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 It will auto switch the Frequency rate to save the power of sleep mode?
Guest gt100 Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Coreplayer 480p video benchmark: Wow! Fantastic increase of preformance! What about battery life at 1GHz?
Guest inmatrixout Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Is it applicable for HD2? :D
Guest aol1978 Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) not applicable for hd2 is not arm only omnia 2 and acer Edited December 1, 2009 by aol1978
Guest lv_88 Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) It does make a difference OC'ing, so I would disagree that it doesn't/is not necessary, Omnia2 is slow in menus and usual usage at 800mhz either way. I am currently running it at 1000mhz all the time when I'm using it like before bedtime to surf a lot and check out things/apps for a longer time etc. For me there is a "smoothness" difference between 800 and 1000mhz, but the battery life seems to be a tad bit affected tho not much, nothing that disturbs me. I do wish there was a way to make the 1000mhz more permanent, or at least to keep it after the "sleep mode" (when you unlock it etc.)Wow! Fantastic increase of performance! What about battery life at 1GHz? Edited December 1, 2009 by lv_88
Guest sorg Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 It's very stupid to require to install 15mb of framework for CPU tweak utility. Where are good programmers today? Why even small utililty requires a lot of garbage to install? not applicable for hd2 is not arm only omnia 2 and acer All Windows Mobile devices are using ARM CPUs. But this tweaker only for S3C6410 CPU.
Guest Yohng Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) What's hapen there ? Overclocking Omnia II ? Older one has 4 month old ! Is it allready obsolet ? Increase frequency means increase heat and power consumption => decrease battery capability (anyway) ! Increase heat means decrease MTBF , so ... CPU life ! Who want to destroy his new phone to win a couple of microseconds ? Edited December 1, 2009 by Yohng

Increase frequency means increase heat and power consumption => decrease battery capability (anyway) ! Increase heat means decrease MTBF , so ... CPU life ! Who want to destroy his new phone to win a couple of microseconds ? Well first of all, this thread explores the possibilities and developments of overclocking the S3C6410 processor and the developer is not forcing anyone to try the app, which means the app is "Try it on your own Risk" Second, Mr. Epsylon3 doesn't own an i8000, he owns an ACER M900 and this tool was originally created for M900, not I8000. He started a thread on Acer Forums on the tool, giving our 533Mhz a boost of 666Mhz, which clearly speeds up 3D Games and intensive apps for us acer users. Because of his willingness to make the tool to be compatible with other smartphones having s3c6410 procie, he requested (in that thread) for someone to please try the tool on an 800mhz (like O2,GA,Pro) so that he could make it compatible with it... So I made a thread here to help him in the development, testers have done there job and now he successfully made it compatible with O2. Mhz's increased big or not, the point is he made the effort of making the tool compatible with O2, even if he does not own an O2. Why can't people just be thankful that someone is making an effort in making some possible improvements, without asking anything in return... For instance: -Ginkage made the OpenGl 1.0 driver, he owns a I8000, but he made it also compatible with Acer M900... - NuShrike made the FPUEnabler, he owns an Acer M900, but he made it also compatible with I8000 They made these tools and drivers without asking anything in return and made these tools/drivers compatible with other devices they don't have for the sake of improving our devices. Let's just be thankful they're doing it for free...and hopefully free in the future, for NuShrike is planning to place the final version of FPUEnabler in Marketplace, all because some jerk said that he is selfish and just wasting his time and effort in making FPUEnabler... Third and Last, I think it never came to his mind and intentions (and other developers too) to "destroy" our new phones just to win a couple of microseconds... Edited December 1, 2009 by daskalos
