Guest fubo Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Please, could you all buddies here post both clock settings for APLL and MPLL? I tried a lot of APLL settings leaving MPLL as is and none was stable...
Guest speedfrog Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 here is mine: APLL: 515*2 = 1030 MPLL: 388*0,5 = 194 (i dont know what MPLL is,what is it?)
Guest fubo Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 here is mine: APLL: 515*2 = 1030 MPLL: 388*0,5 = 194 (i dont know what MPLL is,what is it?) WM version?
Guest speedfrog Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 6.5.x i actually can get APLL 517*2 = 1034
Guest bluhound Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 6.5.x i actually can get APLL 517*2 = 1034 I too managed to overclock my phone past 1Ghz (was using APLL of 512 and FPUEnabler on). I though it would be stable after running at that speed for a few days. However, when I started some games which uses OpenGL (like Experiment 13, Xtrakt and Tower Defense), it crashed. Even launching the games after a soft reset crashes the phone. Had to downclock to 950Mhz (APLL of 450) for it to work. FYI, not all Samsung CPUs are created equal. Some are able to be overclocked higher than others.
Guest bluhound Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 No, it only set frequency on the fly, you can close it after... its why there is a shortcut creator tool... Frequency is then reset to normal frequency on sleep (when your screen is set off) MPLL = Main Frequency, APLL = ARM Frequency, but i dont suggest to change MPLL, lcd and usb could be based on this main frequency... (in fast there is a third PLL, the EPLL for devices, which could be based on MPLL)
Guest johnchua55 Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 ROM version seems to play a part in stability. i've just flashed to TWU2's JE2 lite rom and now i get stable overclock at APLL 480 MPLL 388 tried S3clock but nothing happens .... and FPU enabler isn't stable at all ... hangs with phonebook when adding contact to a message. so i'm just using GPI0fix to overclock using shortcuts .... pretty stable ... am able to send MMS
Guest almar Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 (edited) Hi guys, have you already tried to increase the voltage to make it more stable? Probably you can get higher if you do this. Not sure though if this is possible with haret. (check the manual). Does it get really hot at 1 ghz? In android this should be far more easy I think. But I first want to finish the project, it would an enourmouss loss if I bricked my phone. EDIT: I think what would be more wise is to leave the MPLL to a bit lower value (standard it is 266), if you overclock this one also the lcd driver etc get a higher clock (dangerous!) or youll have to change the dividers. But what you probably do want is to have a higher memspeed, what you can easier do (and probably less dangerous) is to adjust the mem settings (yes the same as in your old computer which you overclocked). CHeck out page 128 and chapter 4 from the s3c6410 manual rev12. Warning: this is on your own risk, im only giving you hints how to accomplish what you want. Edited July 3, 2010 by almar
Guest Asgardi Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Is it yet possible to get the clocks to stay after locking and unlocking the phone? If yes, how? I tried the software earlier but it was too difficult to overclock manually every time the phone was used...
Guest johnchua55 Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 i think i found 1 cause of instability ..... openGL drivers are not so stable .... when using SPB ... if openGL is enabled it's a bit unstable at any frequency above 900 i think .... sometimes hangs phone as well. testing with openGL disabled @470 APLL ...... seems very stable now.
Guest Sinistersky Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 is there like a guide for this? or can anyone write it please? when i set the APLL in the GPIOgfx v1.2d to 420 the program freezes and i have to soft reset it...i m running shadow angels JF5 ROM WM 6.5.3.
