Mine from XXIH3, XSOIH1, DXIH2 NPS flashed to XXIH5, XSOIH1, DXIH2.

Thereafter indicate the version is the latest no update require.

Why?

Thought it was suppose to update to WM6.5 with J version?

Anyone care to comment and adv.

s***! There are at least 3 version of NPS.

Just downloaded the 1.4.0Ik1 version from http://www.samsungmobile.com.sg/support/so...eOtherUpdate.do

Got to uninstall the older version before installing this version.

The rest is as usual.

Now inprocess of updating to WM6.5 J version.

Will tryed everything ,downgrade everything didnt work for my I8000 . I think the NPS also check the imei or some kind of identification, if your phone is an original singapore I8000 flashed to other roms, it might work ! but not for other region i8000 ,not mine for sure

Cannot remember who wrote this (ps. credit to the author)

Got to do it before official flash.

And make sure the NPS is 1.4.0IK

Another step you need to do since you already flash your CSC's, you need to re-preconfigure your phone for the location.

Here how:

1 ) On your keypad input *#1546792*#

2 ) Select [Preconfiguration]

3 ) Enter code *#81230*# and select [OK]

4 ) Select [What ever your location]

5 ) Choose accept for device to Hard-Reset

6 ) Flash to the official ROM.

It's not the csc or the region. My phone is a I8000L ,so I think this trick only works for Singapore market phones. After flashing xso1 the Preconfiguration is Singapore, I changed to my location Canada, both didn't work. NPS is IK1, I am trying to install XPsp2 to see that make any diffirence.lol ,My phone come with a 6.5 pre-installed,this is first time having a 6.1, I will keep it for another day before flash back to 6.5. Thanks anyway.

after some issue encountered by some of us. I wanted to check if it was possible to go back to an official 6.1 rom and having the original csc back.

i tried and it worked.

I know that some of us prefer 6.1 so with that way we can go back to an official 6.1 rom.

See my fisrt post.

Hi everyone,

i read that a lot of people wanted to do an official update using new pc studio k1 version( i was one of the people) after using secany or zorg firmware.

So i decided to give it a try.

Basicly nps detects which country you o2 is from using the csc file.

Problem the i8000xsoih1.csc can not be found.(For singapore)

So i decided to create a FAKE ONE based on famih4

and i was successful.

So i downgraded to i8000XXIH3 using zorg version

And phone dxih2

and using my fake csc.

So ihad

PDA: I8000XXIH3

CSC: I8000XSOIH1

PHONE: I8000DXIH2

and when i connected my phone to new pc studio i was prompt for the upgrade.

If you install NEW PC STUDIO VERSION H2_H5 instead of k1

http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/down...1.2.1.IH2_5.exe

NPS will update you to official H5 and it will overwrite my fake csc with the original one

PDA: I8000XXIH5

CSC: I8000XSOIH1

PHONE: I8000DXIH2

iI have attached my fake csc file.

As usual i am not responsible for any damage, brick, loss of data that can occur .

Thanks to you!

I made it from I8000XXIH5 to j9. Although the wm6.5 rom works not as good as expected,it is the official rom now. Looking forward to the next update.

Didn't work here...

Got the phone to:

PDA: I8000XXIH3

CSC: I8000XSOIH1

PHONE: I8000DXIH2

And tried with both versions using Singapore:

New_PC_Studio_1.2.1.IH2_5.exe

New_PC_Studio_1.4.0.IK1.exe

Both says Device not supported.

I´m worried about this: on NPS the phone appears as:

GT-I8000 (000-0000-0000)

Are this zeros normal ? What is supposed to be there ? S/N ? IMEI ? Should I be worried ?

On the device *#06# show me the correct IMEI. How do I check the S/N on the phone (on software) ?

Mine also appear as GT-I8000(000-0000-0000), was prompt for upgrade but as mentioned hung during installation when phone was in off mode.

normally your phone number should appear instead of the zeros.

Update:

Got it updated using NPS!

I had it update to H5 first:

PDA: I8000XXIH5

CSC: I8000XSOIH1

PHONE: I8000DXIH2

This were the exact versions on the device when I bought it.

Only then NPS (1.4.0.IK1) recognized it as upgradable and updated to :

PDA: I8000NXXIJ9

CSC: I8000XSOIJ2

PHONE: I8000DXIJ1

About the zeros on "GT-I8000 (000-0000-0000)", that's ok since I had no SIM card on the phone.

hahahaha you will not believe how stupid i am..

i read that some guy here flashed his b7610 with a i8000csc so he could update to wm6.5 and for him it worked appearently...

so i thought lets install THIS fake csc and see what happens (i only read the first three posts T_T) well it kinda worked...

my phone boots

phone thinks he's a omnia II at start up lol

phone thinks its a wm6.5 (according to start>settings>adcanced settings>system>version>windows mobile)

but

sounds are little "plops" now 0o

and what else i dont get is, how come i have the wm6.5 menu ? because, yes he thinks its wm6.5, but he IS a 6.1 so shouldnt he have the normal wm6.1 menu?

oh..and i definitely feel its a bit quicker ? how's that possible ? :S maybe the fresh install.....

well thought id let you guys know...dunno, might me useful for something...

I think i found out what is wrong with the sound!

the values of the "music speaker" in the hidden sound menu (call>*#0002*28346#) are set to "000"

When i change them to "110" and "1110" and press apply i get a notification of succes...however, after a reboot the values are set back to "000" :S anyone any idea what im doing wrong?

Jin

-edit- forgot to mention that the upgrade @ NPS obviously failed

so, how does the genuine SS WM6.5 compare to the Secany and co ones??? Did all the effort that we went to to find and report bugs help get a nice clean release with all the fixes rolled into it <he asks naively yet ever hopeful>

Posted (edited)

started the software upgrade, but after my phone shut down, nps showed "failed to detect device" and the process stopped. had to use octans to flash it back to ih5. is this normal and should i just have waited?

Latest offical rom is currently J9 right? And the upcoming one as claimed by secany is L1 right? Correct me if i am wrong. hehe

For those try to updates using this method but fail, I believe is Windows issue because normatter how hard I try, it still prompt your device is not supported.

I get fed up, and found a PC running Windows XP, and bravo! it detect my device and updates accordingly!

I assume beside the detected CSC issue, it also detecting your Windows. I might wrong, I not sure about it. I just knew it is not detected my device is support when running updates in Windows 7, but it is working when I choose updates under Windows XP.
