Guest dgmorland Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 Thank you finally someone with advise, dont think it will work but Ill give it a try anyways, its the only thing I havent done. Now when I go into the settings my options are GSM 900/1800 GSM 850/1900 or WCDMA what should I try what are the differences?? WCDMA=3G. The other two are GSM on different frequency bands. The GSM frequency you choose needs to match whatever frequency your carrier uses. If neither GSM options works perhaps your carrier only provides a 3G network and not GSM. In your later post you mention that none of the GSM options got a connection and the WCDMA one disconnected quickly. That sounds like a poor signal issue to me. Have you been able to try another phone (a different model) connecting to the same network in your location (maybe you can borrow one to test) to check signal strength?

Actually yes the samsung galixy I tested my buddy has it, same network no issuses. When I put my phone back to automatic then it only cuts off like every 2 hours or so. But HOW!!!! can it be a poor signal when it happens everywhere!!! and I almost always have full bars. I could go to the place with the best signal in the world and it would still happen, as well as 2 other people I know with this phone and this is my 3rd one so thats 5 phones with the same thing that I actually know in person :S I dont know it just pisses me off when you spend this kind of money you should get what you paid for! How many people have dust under there screen???? And what will samsung do? send it away for like 2 months! they will clean it, but the dust will come back WTF!!! 4 HTC phones of mine never had that issue Edited February 11, 2010 by jaytuu
