I take no responsibility for you flashing this ROM. It works for me.

Note:

- This is a Lite version. Your memory/mileage may vary.

- Flash with Octans v2.14 - been using this since it was released

- The only reason I use Rapidshare for upload is I'm a premium user. I have plenty of space and

links can retain foreever as long as there is someone downloading. Most importantly, you don't

have to wait a second to download like other free websites. I usually monitor my downloads so

it would be nice to avoid mirrors. However, I allow mirrors but will not update them.

Thanks:

- twu2 for links to JF5

- Rodrigofd and Wes who initiated this customized ROM project

- Gig and those Chinese cookers for first ROM customization and tools

- Sorg for his dump tool and information

- PDAMobiz ROM Tool Developer (mrtoto)

- All PDAMobiz ROM Cookers

- Dande for his power_on/off screens and welcomehead.192.png screen

- Tacchan23 for remembering some things I forgot about

- Joris Heirbaut for his diff/patch utilities

A special thanks to Wes58 for his RomTool program and all the help he has provided me.

If I missed anyone, please PM me so I can add your name.

In the log files, the names in [ ] are complete folders which were

deleted. Everything else is individual files.

Cooking 101 Using Wes58's RomTool

I will use I8000NXXJB1 as an example.

1. Dump your uncooked ROM using sorg's dump utility.

Sorg ROM Dump Utility

2. Copy and paste folder "_Template" in i8000kitchen folder. Rename it to something you like.

I usually rename it to the version of the ROM I am working with (XXJB1 for example)

3. Copy rom_dump.bin from your phone to the folder where you are building new rom (XXJB1 for example).

4. Start Wes58's RomTool program.

5. Change Work Folder (at top) to folder the folder where the rom_dump.bin is (XXJB1).

6. Leave everything checked (default).

7. Click Select File (at bottom) to locate the rom_dump.bin file.

8. When Source PDA box is filled with your dump, click Run (bottom right).

And wait til it's finished.

9. Once it is finished, you should have 2 additional folders:

OEM

SYS

10. Now click on Build PDA tab. (We are not changing anything yet. Just want to make sure the

we know how to use RomTool)

11. Click Run (bottom right).

12. First, you will get a BuildOS window. Under file, at the top, click the green arrow to start

building the ROM.

13. When BuildOS has successfully completed. Close the window.

14. Next, you will see the ExtReloc window and don't be afraid when you see it.

15. Between the "Work with XIP" and "Work with IMGFS" areas, there is a vertical white line.

Drag it all the way to the left.

If you have done this correctly, you will see a "Realloc IMGFS Modules" button on the right.

You should also see "[.VM]" and "[.ROM]" areas. Don't change anything.

16. Click the "Realloc IMGFS Modules" button.

Wait for it to finish. After it finishes and there are no errors, close the window.

17. The build process will continue to completion, assuming no errors.

18. In the Finished ROM folder you will find a new ROM which you just built. Congratulations!!!

As far as removing programs, you can use Wes58's tool to do that using the SYS/OEM tab on the RomTool.

The registry entries are in .rgu files in the SYS and OEM folders. Do not mess with the .dsm files.

This is a very brief intro to building a rom. Please read as much as you can BEFORE asking questions.

All of people on this forum have invested a lot of time writing directions and answering questions about

rom building, so please take the time to read what they wrote.

Happy Cooking! :(

Ok, i downloaded it but i dont know how to extract it. Can someone explain to me?

If you have winzip installed on your computer, just double-click

on the .zip file (GC_I8000_PDA_8PP.zip).

I used Wes58's RomTool:

RomTool

Very easy to use and includes instructions in a PDF file.

Also, there is a lot of information about ROM cooking on MoDaCo.

Please read all you can before doing anything. I did.

You may want to also read some info about ROM at:

XDA ROM Info

Very good site for ROM cooking info.

And...if you haven't already done so, check out the index of the

MoDaCo "GSM ROM Discussion". There are links to cooking and flashing.

Good.

Testing in progress. Feedback tomorrow. Overall is good. I dont see the Neo Titanium but the origin window titanium. That is okay since I dont use it and this can be installed from the CAB.

Feedback other when I got more information.

Hey Gary,

I tried to decrease pagepool to 8MB too. All is working fine, but my PC won't recognize Omnia...is it working for you ActiveSync/WinMobile Device Centre?

Also Kies/NPS...

You're welcome.

It was difficult, but fun.
