Guest Jan M Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 If thats the case how comes no-ones reported that with Paul & Bobos ROM. Does that mean theyve broken it even more? I don't know about you but the 2.1 roms reboot every so often for me...and usually it slows down and locks up before rebooting...indicating memory issues...
Guest -Yaya- Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 I didnt have a single reboot with Paul and Bobos 2.1 Rom ...

And remember that while Huawei are doing the port its being done for Tmobile and they are the people who'll be getting the support calls if its not solid ... thus I can't see Tmobile permitting 2.1 to be released if it has any "issues" - we might be happy to have a few reboots etc to be able to get 2.1 ... but then again we are not "standard customers" that Tmob expect to deal with.

This problems are only related to the custom ROM. I installed the original update (an UPDATA.APP file), not the custom ROM, and I haven't got any errors yet I didn't get with all the other ROMs too. It works [nearly] perfect! I haven't got a singel reboot. Also, I get force closes very rarely... Best regards, BigBear
Guest skrattinn Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Where can i download original update? and is some problem with it? This problems are only related to the custom ROM. Guest Ashbeard Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 We've just come out of the middle 10 days of May and no sign. And in the meantime Google have released an even newer version. Customer Support does not seem to be a priority for T-Mobile.
Guest mark2410 Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 you know i think ive reached the point where not only would i be unlikely to ever buy any thing from huawei, branded tmobile or even another android phone. so far android seem like the best idea ever but neiter google or handset manufacturers seem to give a crap (google and the googlemail to gmail breaks android, like WTF)

Do you think that if we all wrote emails to T-mobile/Huawei saying that their product is rubbish because of x y and z and that unless it gets sorted out we will go elsewhere we will leave them that they might actually listen to us?
Guest klutsh Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 I switched to a HTC Hero for now, until I can afford to get a 2010 model, even though the Hero on 1.5 at the minute, it's far better than the Pulse.

Guest Ashbeard Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 The hero has 2.1. Search for VanillaDroid. And in America I believe there is an official ROM.
Guest Simon O Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 And in America I believe there is an official ROM. Yep. Sprint have released an official HTC 2.1 rom.

Could you upload the update or would that get you/someone into trouble? I'd rather have a stable t-mob 2.1 update without root than an unstable rom with root. Or am I missing something? Thanks

Guest Speckles Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 I asked T-Mobile shop recently and suprisingly they knew about the update  But they said that the update has been abandoned as the Pulse isn't 2.1 capable, but they have other phones with 2.1 on if I wish to upgrade my phone. I think 'capable' is a strong word, as I've had 2.1 running on my Pulse. It just isn't stable enough (or maybe thats what they mean)

Sounds to me like they were just saying that to try and get you to buy a new phone. "no,sir. That old phone you have won't get 2.1 on it.But this shiny new phone already does" :D

Guest Simon O Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Well if they offered a phone as good as the Pulse on PAYG running 2.1 then I'd buy it now. But they don't. Last time I went in they tried to sell me the Pulse Mini as a new improved Pulse! Erm, no. It's plasticy and has a tiny screen with a crappy resistive screen. I spent 5 min playing with it. Hated it, don't want it. The upcoming Vodafone 845 seems interesting apart from the tiny resolution. Running 2.1 though.
Guest Cheadle Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Maybe the plug has been pulled on this one, as I guess it depends on how much money people are willing to lash at it. If you have got a rom that works but you cant install apps - then it is pointless and well by the looks of the custom rom we have we just cant get it to be stable enough even with the ability of SD storage.
Guest biron_w Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Maybe the plug has been pulled on this one Wouldn't surprise me.I'm still sticking with my prediction we won't see it this month. If at all.
