I guess you've flashed with a CSC or you've forgotten choosing "Erase CSC" option in Octan settings

Nobie question:

When flashing your ROM (the .nb0 file) should the "Erase CSC" option in Octan settings be checked even if you do not supply to Octans another CSC file ?

the things I've seen from your picture is not from my rom. That means either you've flashed my rom with a CSC or there is already a CSC in your pda and you didn't choose "Erase CSC" option.

If everything works fine, don't touch it. But if something works weird, try to remove it first.

As I said before, I'm using 4mb pp version and after hardreset, my free ram is around 130 mb

I didn't post any pictures you are mistaken me with the user: speedfrog

My question was a generic question about the way your ROM should be flashed:

- with "Erase CSC" option checked and with a CSC file provided (and if this is the right way which CSC file should be used ?) or

- with "Erase CSC" option checked and no supplementary CSC file provided, because it is included in your ROM

10x in advanced and sorry for this newbie question :P

Yes, I confused you with speedfrog but the answer is same

You can flash any csc you want but, if the csc that you flash needs some files or changes settings, it'll cause problems.

Some people think that, when they don't choose any CSC, they don't use any CSC with rom. Wrong!, your previous CSC still remains.

I made this rom only for English use and without CSC. Nevertheless you can give your CSC a try, in the worst case you might have to flash the rom again.

This is a WM6.1 update

Samsung's NXXJD4 update is based for this version

No WiFi sleeping bug during standby, No Xtra setting issue

Thats really great. I will give it a try (the 8mb). (both problems I mentioned before are covered here  )

I am still encounter the the taskbar Icon Indicators disappear problem also my phone is disconnected by it self from time to time :P . I think this is related to the phone part (I have I8000XXIJ4)

Can you advice... I am thinking to download your PDA NXXJD4 based + the I8000EURJD4 CSC & PHONE part.

But at the same time I don't want to lose "My Storage". How can I maintain this? please advice

By the way what are yours... CSC & PHONE part?

I haven't made any large indicator cab for jd4, which cab file have you installed ? Try this one http://rapidshare.com/files/382705902/Sina...e_Indicator.cab

Don't play your phone part too much. If you brick it, you can't recover it! I still use my stock phone part.

Hi Sinan. Now i am trying 6.1. Can you please tell me how can i get SMS button back under programs menu? I could not find SMS button anywhere. But if i show sms on Today screen it's possible, but i don't want SMS to be seen on Today screen.

Thanks in advance.

Sinan what is problem, why don't you answer my questions? I searched your posts and couldn't find answer of my question. Also please do not forget that anyone in this forum may not have enough time to search all posts here but i'm trying.... Please do not forget that search functionality is not working well. I'm trying google search also with parameter "site:www.modaco.com SMS cab... etc" if i cannot find answer.... Why do you behave like that i don't understand.....

What SMS ?

Show me the screen shots of your today and Settings/Today/Items

I uninstalled 6.1, now comparing 6.5 again.

In 6.1 version, there was no icon under programs menu? I used Resco Explorer with today plugin. You can add program icons into today screen. To do this you click add button and system lists all the program under windows programs menu.. There was no any text message icon in programs menu.

Anyway, you are working on 6.1. I wonder which program are you using as today screen?? Titanium or spb or?

All you need to do is copy tmail.lnk from windows folder to windows\Start menu\programs

You can change its name to whatever you want

And as I said before I don't use any spb shell, htc sense, manila, pointui etc. I don't like them, they use significant cpu power and ram memory. For what, more attractive screen?

I just use stock today and TodayAgenda

I am not using any "Large Indicator" I have the default small one. But the icons disappears!!! (notification, Bluetooth, new message & missed calls. [sound, battery & network are OK])

I have changed the phone, CSC parts twice before. so I can give it one more try.

My main issue now that my phone keeps disconnecting from time to time... And this is why I need your advice If I can use the PHONE & CSC part of I8000EURJD4 ROM, or from any that you tried & working.

Thanks for your advice... I will give it a try.

To maintain "My Storage"... In OCTAN v2.13 I need to tick "Preserve device's contents"... & "Erase CSC" will not erase "My Storage"

Please correct me if I am wrong

Good job Sinan. This version is much more stable than the JD1 (at least for me). I only have problems with the MMS cab. I get an error when I try to install.

Cheers

Hey Sinan, thanks for the file. It solves the problem partially, since it enables MMS, but you lost the threading messages option, and also install a File Manager that doesn't work. Can't we just install the regular SMS-MMS?

Thanks :-)

If I'm not wrong, WM6.1 doesn't have threaded sms. The one we had in original wm6.1 of samsung is samsung's not MS's. Samsung used emform as messaging shell. Samsung changed everything since wm6.1, we don't have emform anymore. The threaded sms you've seen in wm6.5 is wm6.5's feature. I'm not sure though

I tried File Manager and it is working ?

File Manager is working, but if you install that cab you get another file manager (2 file manager icons), one works (the original one) and the other don't (the one installed with MMS). Threading SMS exists since some versions of 6.1, the one here has threaded SMS (I'm using it right now).

SMS MMS is the Samsung app for messaging. The link as a separated cab is in the pinned topic about cabs in this forum. The link is:

SMS-MMS

The link is fixed. BTW, the threading SMS in 6.1 is the WINDOWS SMS client, not Samsung's
