Guest Gary Crutcher Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Has anyone had trouble extracting the file? I've downloaded the files twice, but when I double click on the .zip, click extract then go through the wizard, I get a message telling me that the zip folder is invalid or corrupted. Something may have happened when downloading. Maybe one of the other members can help as I have never experienced corruption in downloaded files. Anybody help?
Guest Gary Crutcher Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Seem like I just cannot flash Gary's ROM. I just get a blank screen after initial start up alignment and hang there. Same situation flashing JB3_6.5 and JB3_6.5.5. Now total lost where went wrong. Did you try flashing again? Maybe something happened during flashing. Maybe try hard reset.
Guest abepara Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 It seems that the program RAM used up faster than 6.5 JB3.
Guest jkgtan Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Did you try flashing again? Maybe something happened during flashing. Maybe try hard reset. Thks for your quick reply. Had tried many times and with many different configuration with the flash. Still end up with a hang screen. Will keep trying. Thks

Now found other problems: 1. Phone hang when connected to samsung New PC Studio therefore cannot restore phonebook and sms. 2. Tried Samsung MIT to restore, phone also hang. Help needed. Thank you.

The reason NPS and Kies won't work is because of the default relocation of the ROM modules during cooking. I have tested a new version with Kies and Kies does connect to my O2. I will post a new version.
Guest dande Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 (edited) @Gary Crutcher, Please leave rest of languages keyboards in ROM it's vital for all of us that we like your ROM in English but we want to be able to communicate in our languages (SMS). Thank you very much for sharing your excellent work with us. Edited March 8, 2010 by dande

Guest jebise Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 (edited) It has to do with how the modules are relocated when building the ROM. I use the default relocation when using Wes58's RomTool. Wes found that by relocating some of the modules to slot 0, it fixed the problem. Not sure how that affects available memory. yeah i saw his post on the other thread, i have no idea how to fix that in your current 6.5 ROM, i look at it tonight and see. But if you can upload a new ROM with the fix that would be amazing as i love your ROM. I'm not ready to move to 6.5.5 since it still beta. Edited March 8, 2010 by jebise

Now I am working on restoring the keyboard languages to 6.5.5 as well as the Kies problem. When I finish, I will work on 6.5 and do the same.
Guest tacchan23 Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Thanks a lof for the new JB3 wm6.5.5 ROM! I've been a bit away from flashing but was waiting for something like this:)
Guest speedfrog Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 dear Gary Crutcher are you thinking of makeing a jb3 ultra lite 6.5.5 rom? <_<? a rom with non programs and sutff.
Guest alexdeejay_fm Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 i`m the only one with this issue?forget about the samsung today, dont need it,buth samsung widgets, spb shell or any shell dont cover the today screen, what to do?need help <_<.verry smooth and no other problem so far.
Guest dande Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 @alexdeejay_fm Forget widgets, try titanium. There are some good themes from gchris or contable or try a mixture of yours.
Guest dande Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 (edited) Hi Gary Crutcher I am bit curious about your next release. Did you include SDK Certs, NetCF 3.5 in your ROM? As I see above you still have samsung widgets included (useless in 6.5.5). Have you remove themes, images, video ringtones to make your ROM lighter? I would have like it a bit lighter than it is but this is my personal taste. And I want to thank you for you decision to include the rest of keyboards and XT9 files in your coming release. Thank you for sharing your work. Edited March 8, 2010 by dande

Thank you for sharing your work. I'm curious about the SDK Certs, NetCF 3.5 and what not as well. My next request is if you can do an ultra lite, with all the SDK/Net/opengl/g-sensor/overclocking/threaded sms /etc stuff already enabled. I only ask this cause you seem to be doing a great job on being a chef, and perfect timing since I just got my omnia. Thanks again for all your help in the community.
Guest Gary Crutcher Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 Thanks a lof for the new JB3 wm6.5.5 ROM! I've been a bit away from flashing but was waiting for something like this:) Hi Tacchan23, Thanks a lot. <_< Will have a new version with all keyboard languages restored and fix for Samsung Kies later today.
Guest Gary Crutcher Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 dear Gary Crutcher are you thinking of makeing a jb3 ultra lite 6.5.5 rom? <_<? a rom with non programs and sutff. First things first...I need to restore language keyboards in 6.5 and 6.5.5 and fix the Samsung Kies issue. Then, I can look into ultralite versions.

If you are referring to the bar above the today screen, I already mentioned that in my first post. It is a Samsung issue with 6.5.5. When it gets fixed, I will post a new ROM.
Guest c3p9 Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 Gary, I haven't tried your ROM yet but.... put a PayPal DONATE buttom on first post. I'm sure many of us will be glad to buy you a beer <_<

Guest Gary Crutcher Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 Uploading new version with: 1. keyboards for all languages 2. KIES fix May take awhile - uploading is a slow process. Will post on 1st page when upload complete. Still 8MB Page Pool. Free Program Ram still should be the same.

Actually there is a NetCF v3.7 I will look at, but may or may not include it. Don't know yet. SDK Certs not installed. There are cabs for this. Easy user install. Will be working on an ultra lite version after I fix the keyboard and Kies issue with 6.5. As far as adding some of your suggestions: - overclocking - prefer users do that - not something I want to mess with. - others - will look into them
Guest Gary Crutcher Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 ROM updated - see 1st post - All language keyboards re-enabled - Kies issue fixed. Thanks for everyone's help. <_<
