[12.09.2010] [ROM] I8000 CUSTOM WM6.5(.x) ROM FROM PDAVIET by Sonblack

Recommended Posts

Question for Mr. contable:

How can I change default wallpapers that are listed at menu--> change wallpapers (SB29 ROM).

There are 12 wallpapers and I would like to change some of them.

I did search through forum and find your post - rename the downloaded pic to Bkg.png and copy it to \Program Files\JMLToday\skins\default folder

I did that and nothing change (after update, soft reset,...). Where have you stored those files to swap them?

Thank you very much

SB29 has stored the wallpapers in My Storage\JML folder. There you will find folders called 1 to 12 as I remember...

Hey Sonblack,

I know your busy, but I was just wondering if you have any plans for another 6.5.X ROM. I was excited when I heard SB30 was coming, but sadly I will not return to 6.5 (especially without a stylus on our O2). Not sure why so many O2 users prefer 6.5 especially when you have perfected 6.5.X as in SB29. Anyways, just curious (and sorry if this was already addressed, I might have missed a post); Thanks to all who make the SB series what it is, JAZZ8

It´s strange:

I configured MMS for use with T-Mobile Germany

I cannot send MMS

Have to ask Sonblack tomorrow... maybe Samsung Sms-Mms.exe has to be cooked.

Thank you very much for coming back to me.

I also have an issue with the top small icon that is on the big toggle bar( the one that toggles the 8 icons below) it doesn't click

I think it is the task icon.

The bottom one which is the calender toggles fine.

Anyway I don't need those two icons, can I remove them from the toggle bar

Regards

Mari Saleh

The small task button is not clickable when there is no upcoming task.

Add a task and the button will work. This is a feature of stock version. I could change this.

Thank you for clarifying this.

But is it possible to remove both icons from there and how please?

I feel that they are duplicates of page 3 and 6 of jmltoday

thanks

There are some restrictions from stock version which have to be modded by small scripts if you wanna change them.

Personally I would prefer a skin with only 1 page but all functions from 6 pages.

Maybe I will go back to previous development => V2.40 (or stop the development). I will wait for the final result of the current polling.

Cheers

Atm there is no other way than flashing again.

I found another problem with SB 30, that's the battery: it dropped from 75% to 47% on 5 hour standby last night. I did force the performance to High, but that shouldn't affect on standby, when no software is running (I already checked to close them all)? I think this ROM drains the battery a lot during the day too.

Does anyone else have the same battery problem? I think I should try SB 29, or do you recommend another ROM that's the most stable recently :-(? My previous ROM was a SB one released in Jan, and it was working all right.

I still do 6.5.x ROM. That's why I wrote 6.5(.x) in my thread title. :P

I will do when I have free time.

I cannot confirm that SB30 has a high battery drainage. When I went to bed yesterday I had 81% when I got up this morning still 79%...

Because of some requests I have changed the camera icon to launcher icon with mainmenu function (for adding own shortcuts).

I had this feature in previous versions.

How to install:

1. copy mainmenu.exe to \Program Files\JMLToday folder

2. copy SCD.png to \Program Files\JMLToday\skins\default\sys folder

3. modify deafult.pnx file (\Program Files\JMLToday folder) as following:

[sCD_Action_1]

dim=2x4

A=%PROGRAMFILES%\JMLToday\JMLMenu.exe;Web.mnu

B=%JMLTODAY%\mainmenu.exe

C=%JMLTODAY%\JMLMenu.exe;Settings.mnu

D=%JMLTODAY%\JMLMenu.exe;Volume.mnu

E=%JMLTODAY%\JMLMenu.exe;Media.mnu

F=%JMLTODAY%\JMLMenu.exe;Photos.mnu

G=%JMLTODAY%\JMLMenu.exe;Gps.mnu

H=%JMLTODAY%\Hide.mscr

4. Refresh titanium (SK2 => menu)

Enjoy !

For users who like Samsung Sms-Mms or have problems with MMS setup.

Thank you very much for that Sonblack.

Can you also help me,

I have a query on SB27 and in fact all the wm 6.5.5 based roms

in that when you send an sms and you open the sent folder

you will see a line of non english characters underneath each sent message.

It is annoying, I am sure you can advise on how to resolve it.

By the way your wm 6.5.5 based roms are fantastic, I find

touch is more responsive with them.

Also how do you allow whether you want to install JMLToday, S2U etc. or not

The same as in SB29 installation.

Thanks again

Mari Saleh

Thank you very much mate

I am troubling you

How to remove small appointment and task icons from page1:

1. Edit "default.ini" file (\Program Files\JMLToday\skins\default):

[Page1]

BluetoothPNG=IC

WifiPNG=ID

City=WCity,Page2

Task=L2

TaskPNG=I2

Rdv=L1

RdvPNG=I1

OperatorName=HeaderText

Delete "TaskPNG=I2" and "RdvPNG=I1" settings.

2. Use Total Commander and browse to

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\JMLToday\Page1

Delete registry keys "I1" and "I2".

3. Refresh titanium (SK2 => menu)

That´s all.

Cheers

Good morning to you and thank you contable.

You Guys are running a fantastic project

you are now getting me hooked on this.

I have tried your v3.0 with SB29,

But I found that some of the icons are pointing

to different links from SB30.

for example Appointments (schedule) isn't found

on SB29.

Can you please show me how to get all the icons

that work fine in SB30 also to work on SB29, SB27.

the location of some links, files seem to be different

on SB29 and SB27 from SB30.

I like wm 6.5.5 based roms the touch seems to be

more sensitive.

Just an idea past you contable,

why don't you be kind enough to

say make a default.pnx that will make

jmltoday icons work straight away

on SB29, SB27.

You can then install v3.0 on them and

just replace default.pnx.

I wonder

Thanks

Mari Saleh

I´m glad to hear that you like this thread with all its great roms.

For a long time I was using SB27 rom but since the development for 6.5.5. roms has stopped it makes no sense ( :P ) for me to stay with 6.5.5 rom flashed on my O2.

There are different .pnx files or links in the .mnu files because I developed my new skin not with a SB rom.

The customization is easy: just copy the files to your desktop and edit them. Afterwards copy them back to device.

You can read in my own thread which files you should modify.

I would really appreciate if somebody could upload moddified .pnx and .mnu files for use with SB27 to SB29 because I don´t have time atm.

Thanks contable,

I would appreciate it if I could have:

1- List of the names of files and links

2- Their locations in the Roms.

I am obviously referring to SB29, SM27

I will try to do the customisation myself

Regards

Mari Saleh

Guide for personalization/customization:

1. How can I change the wallpaper ?

=> Go to \JML folder and replace default_Bkg.jpg with a 480x800 .jpg wallpaper of your choice (name: default_Bkg.jpg)

=> If you wanna go back to default wallpaper you will find it in \Program Files\JMLToday\skins\default folder

2. How can I edit the links of the icons or the menus ?

=> If you wanna change the link of an icon please edit default.pnx file (\Program Files\JMLToday folder)

=> If you wanna edit or add a link of a menu please edit .mnu files (\Program Files\JMLToday folder):

web.mnu, Gps.mnu,media.mnu, Volume.mnu, Settings.mnu, photos.mnu. It´s easy.

You can add as many links as you want.

Enjoy

Thank you very much contable.

I've got another question if I may trouble you.

How do I make it show the operator name

to appear opposite the date

eg O2 UK SUN SEP 12

Thanks
