on the verizon rom putting the phone on vibrate mode DID silence the camera, i know that for sure. but these are very minor problems and the rom is still great. if these problems are fixed its not going to make me re-flash the phone any time soon, only cuz i hate having to reinstall all the software lol. im happy with the way it is right now... just gotta remember to put my phone on silent when taking sneaky pics... ;)

there is a sound file associated with the camera. When you take a picture this sound is played through windows mobile. If you just replace the sound file with a blank sound file it should silence the camera forever.

they are located in \Windows

and are probably called Shutter something. like Shutter01.wav or something. I forget.

create a silent wave file or find one online and rename & overwrite the files in the \Windows folder.

or you could just try the attached .cab DisableCameraSound.cab

it was made by someone in the general omnia 2 forum

but uploaded it to save you the trouble (:

when using the camera, switch the shutter to "shutter 3"

The side bar that comes out and shrinks the today screen I can't seem to activate any of the buttons. I can scroll it up and down, but none of the icons respond.

That's because it really isn't a "sidebar." It only pops up when you want to add or remove panels to the Samsung Today screen. To add a panel, you drag it to the Today screen. To remove a panel, you drag it off the Today Ssreen.

This is a stupid question, but did you make sure your GPS was turned on? I sometimes forget to go into "Settings > General Settings > GPS and turn it on.

Hi,

I flashed this ROM tonight and I do not have an existing network to connect to. When I go to edit my networks, it does not show any I can edit and I am not able to use my web browser. Any idea why that is?

This ROM seems very nice other wise though.

Sorry about all the posts, im sure everything is turned on and the location is on also. Both microsoft and samsung settings are set on too.
