HOW TO CHANGE WM6.5.3+ start icon

How do you change the icons at the bottom of the phone (ie. the default windows start button and its other icons). i would like a minimalist square kind of button set - kind of like the MD2 buttons set, but i want them smaller as i think the round ones take up alot of screen realestate.

Do you need to install cab files, or can you change it easily in the registry, and if so, how.

must be done by cab or by dragging the files over to the windows folder manually and soft resetting. i know tacchan23 has some nice black taskbars with the square bottons.
