Guest Simon O Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Why, yours it's 56.2 Mb and the other (megaupload) it's just 1,81Mb. They are for different things?? :S The second file is only a boot image. The first file is the full updater.
Guest -Yaya- Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) How to get vibrate on your 2.1 Pulse 1) Download Update.app and put it on the root of your sd card Apply it in the settings of android -> upgrade from sd 2) Then the phone reboots and you're back to 1.5 with a new huawei boot screen 3) After this shut the phone down and enter bootloader mode (turn it on while pressing volume up and red key) and apply the recovery menu and superboot (root) 4) Then you need to wipe everything I also formatted the SD Card again but I think this is optional 5) Then you apply the 2.1 Vanilla Rom and the updated framework (optional - but you wont see the clock in the bar if you dont apply it) -> rename the updated framework to framework.zip or something like that or it wont work! 6) After this reboot your device (this takes about 3 min... more than I was used to by the older roms) and voila ... you have 2.1 Vanilla with a nice clock in the bar with vibrate working!! Guest Simon O Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 The update will get rid of your root access so you have to reroot it and install the custom recovery image. Then in the custom recovery image wipe all those settings under wipe before flashing the ROM So I can install the normal custom recovery image as mentioned at http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...on-your-device/ ? Sorry. I assumed that this wouldn't work with the Swedish rom.

Guest mr.a Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Can anyone PLEASE confirm if you can go back to the decemebr update after this or not???
Guest Simon O Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 So you need to apply the Update.app in the settings of android -> upgrade from sd then the phone reboots and you're back to 1.5 with a new huawei boot screen after this shut the phone down and enter bootloader mode (turn it on while pressing volume up and red key) and apply the recovery menu and superboot (root) then you need to wipe everything I also formatted the SD Card again but I think this is optional then you apply the 2.1 Vanilla Rom and the updated framework (optional - but you wont see the clock in the bar if you dont apply it) -> rename the updated framework to framework.zip or something like that or it wont work! Just what I was looking for. So Update.app, recovery, 1.5 superboot = Rooted 1.5 Huawei. Then update to 2.1 using standard methods.
Guest robot1000 Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Can anyone PLEASE confirm if you can go back to the decemebr update after this or not??? Can someone also confirm that I'll still be able to pick up my network in the UK, as I know some firmware have different radio channels
Guest Simon O Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Can anyone PLEASE confirm if you can go back to the decemebr update after this or not??? Chinese forum states that this update prevents you from being able to install the December update which means you won't ever be able to go back to stock T-Mobile 1.5 Due to the updates this rom makes (which sounds like what happened to BoBo) I'm not surprised that the December update won't work. Got me thinking... I wonder if this rom will allow BoBo to go back to 1.5?
Guest -Yaya- Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) o2 Germany works fine here... I'll open another Thread on how to get vibrate on your 2.1 Pulse with my guide to help all the others  Edited May 24, 2010 by -Yaya-
Guest mr.a Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Can somebody PLEASE PLEASE try to flash the december update. if i can't go back to december update and my phone breaks, t-mobile won't repair it for me :D
Guest -Yaya- Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Sorry I already had the december update applied... so cant check that right now
Guest joanorsky Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 If only that worked on U8230...
Guest Simon Taylor Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Can somebody PLEASE PLEASE try to flash the december update. if i can't go back to december update and my phone breaks, t-mobile won't repair it for me :D Me Too! I think knowing if we can go back to stock 1.5 T-mobile would be really helpful! Also, do you still get any force closes and random reboots?

Also, do you still get any force closes and random reboots? Adding to this... What about the T-mobile November update? That has an updata.app file! Would that revert the phone back to stock T-mob 1.5? http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/help-and-sup...FTWAREDOWNLOADS (apologies for posting this in two topics, I think it deserves a big audience!!) Guest screwface Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Lol at people doubting that it wouldn't work on page one. If was obvious that you may not be able to go back to t mobile 1.5, it flashes the hardware...
Guest Richard_Arkless Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) both this thread and the one by yaya seems incredibly suspicious, has anyone actually tried this either way im not gonna do this Edited May 24, 2010 by Richard_Arkless
Guest MrLowHoe Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 both this thread and the one by yaya seems incredibly suspicious, has anyone actually tried this Me too, any confirmation from others? P.s As a bit of a noob, can someone kindly explain to me why updating to 2.1 with the given ROM would not allow you to go back to 1.5. Is it because it is not custom ROM and you simply cannot go backwards? Because the other 2.1 updates (beta ones by paul and bobo bla bla) allow you to go back ( fromw hat I've read) Thanks in advance to anyone that can clear it up for me

Guest ozren Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) I did...it works... but I understand why you are suspicious. My curiosity got better of me... but I was so scared until everything finished... No I am happy  Honestly when I did this I did not know that I wouldnt be able to revert to 1.5. Luckily this is so far as stable as 1.5 and everything works (WiFI, bluetooth, mic, it doesnt reboots after a phone call) but now I am aware that problems can start after a while. Dont ask what will I do then... I dont dare think about that! Edited May 24, 2010 by ozren
Guest niko1986 Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 If this chinese update has a higher version number than the T-Mobile December Update you won't be able to go back. The same way once you installed the December update the older T-Mobile update wouldn't install. Also the same way BoBo can't go back to the december update after flashing the 2.1 Beta update.app file. So its most likely a one way trip. But you should be able to install the 1.5 MCR's because you can go to 2.1 through the update.zip and back to 1.5 with no issues.

The only thing I can't confirm is if the December update is applicable after this, I think no one tried that yet.

Only reason people would need to go back to the t-mobile rom is for warranty reasons. Otherise, enjoy the phone

So if I find myself on 2.1 and wanting to go back to 1.5, I would need to use the 1.5 MCR rom. Hmm, I think I'll wait this one out because I haven't tried any 2.1 for pulse rom because of the vibration problem more than anything else. Tick tock...
