Guest goce.nakov Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 Hey guys, there are a few releases of some kind of host software on the huawei page today: http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwide/down...20&treeId=0 check them out on this link. What is this?! Can someone tell me/everyone?! thanks in advance! It's december update...
Guest rimmer74 Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 just treid restarting but its doing the same still, hmm may try to redo the last step If you aren't already, I would wipe Phone (and Dalvik Cache) and re-apply the version of 2.1 you are trying to install...
Guest chote Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 ok, thank you, but its really strange, why are they announcing the December update now?!

Guest mark2410 Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 woo hoo!!! i re did without adding the optional framework update and yey it works thanks greatly form the assistance provided
Guest rimmer74 Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 First impression are that it is far more stable than EVER so far! Fiddling about with Market at the mooment and by now would normally have FC or rebooted, can confirm vibrate working on U220 - UK one. To say it is faster than 1.5 is a gross understatement Massive thankyou to the original poster!!!
Guest dodge-167 Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 So? Is it safe to install this? And can i go back to Dec. update later?
Guest MrLowHoe Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 I am currently on MCR 1.7. How do i start the process? I'm trying to apply the first update to get it back to 1.5 but it cannot detect the update package. I'm doing this through the settings option. Point me in the right direction please?
Guest rimmer74 Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 So? Is it safe to install this? And can i go back to Dec. update later? If you have already been playing with custom ROM and tries 2.1 ROMS released here and are familiar with the install then no problem and even if you aren't following the instructions provided in OP here I had no problems getting it to work at all AND it is great so far!! Don't think you can go back to December update though because of the first step being a more recent hardware update than that one...
Guest robertopero Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 So? Is it safe to install this? And can i go back to Dec. update later? No, you can't go back to the Dec. update. So make the right decision!

I had to experiment for a while with this and basically you need to unzip the folder so that the folder called 'dload' is in your root of your memory card...took me ages to work that out. Perhaps it could be clarified in OP?

I got that problem too but then I remembered that when you applying December update on T-mobile site its explained step buy step and this update is the same thing.
Guest rimmer74 Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 I got that problem too but then I remembered that when you applying December update on T-mobile site its explained step buy step and this update is the same thing. Ah that explains my problem then with that since my phone came with December update already installed!!
Guest makmondeja Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 I've trying to following all the steps and make these work. The first step always says to me UPDATE FAILED. My phone is an U8220-6. It puts a log file in the dload folder. It's attached. Anyone else with these issue? Can I use that file to flash it from the recovery menu? Can anyone make a 2.1 Flash ROM that includes all the changes??sd_update.log.txt
Guest MrLowHoe Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 (edited) I got that problem too but then I remembered that when you applying December update on T-mobile site its explained step buy step and this update is the same thing. Thanks man, I'll give that a try! EDIT: I am about to apply the 2.1 update via recovery. What about the step: installing the framework.zip. How do I go about installing it? EDIT2: I partitioned the SD card to have 512 ext2 for apps. Is that the correct thing to do before installing the 2.1 rom that has apps2sd. [specifically this rom: http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...la-based-on-r6/ ] Edited May 25, 2010 by MrLowHoe

Guest MrLowHoe Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 I've got it working! Vibration perfect. One thing though, one person has mentioned it before. I cannot read the Carrier name or date when you pull the notifications bar down. http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...la-based-on-r6/ <<<< I installed version 7. Is it to do with the 2.1 Rom I used? Is there another ROM people have used that doesn't have this problem? Great stuff

Guest MrLowHoe Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 If you don't flash the alternative framework (it says optional) you can read it. on the other hand, you won't be able to read the clock since it's white on a lightgrey background Sh4d0w940 I have flashed it...through the recovery menu after 2.1 installed. The picture in the first post of this thread is what my clock looks like: white on a black bar, perfectly visible. But when you swipe the bar down to reveal notifications you cannot read it. Pardon me if i flashed the framework wrongly...point me in the right way

With the framework installed, notifications aren't visible but the clock is.
Guest MrLowHoe Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 oh sorry did i misread your post? the original post says you should install it so you CAN read the clock but you're saying NOT to?
Guest HunteronX Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 You did it right. Without the framework installed, all notifications are visible but clock isn't. With the framework installed, notifications aren't visible but the clock is. The same occurs for me too.

Guest igor_anta Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 Oh wow, damn it much? How could this be fixed? This framework was posted for the vanilla rom a while back. I like the new one even with the missing notifications, the style is great so I'm using that one. The one I'm uploading has the grey bar like the T-Mobile stock rom but without all the pink - magenta stuff. Again just to be sure NANDROID first, but like I said it worked well (I think starkos uploaded it with his vanillaish rom, I'm losing count with all the new stuff that's out). Cheers. framework_res_signed.zip

Cheers. framework_res_signed.zip I deleted that attachment on my original post on the old thread as it messed up market app installs and the only fix was to reflash the whole rom! If people have used the above I would check if market apps install and if u haven't wait for confirmation on whether I'm right or wrong
