Hello & A few questions

Heyy, I am new to the forum and new to Android.

I have had my HTC Legend over a months or so and was wondering.

I have heard about rooting and everything.

If you root your device. Can you put like stock Android OS on there, like the one from the nexus one.

Or maybe even Froyo when it is available?
