Pulse 2.1: Oscillation ROM R7

Hi,

My Pulse has the stock v1.5 T-Mobile UK ROM, I'm wanting to try out the Redbull or the MCR based 2.1 ROM's and wondered if I needed to install any interim updates such as the T-Mobile December update prior to installing the 2.1 HU update and then the custom ROM's.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

MM

i agree that this is the fastest ROM around but i cannot agree with a2sd working this way..zerosignull please fix this or just install the A2SD+ version, or just make some more space

if ap2sd could be changed with ap2sd+ that would be great, beside that this is best rom

Not to sure about the space leak. Has anyone tried installing apps when its reporting zero internal storage???

If you want to move you dalvik cache you can do (i havent tested it). Their are some other options with the aps2sd program that may interest somepoeple: Please Visit Darktremor A2SD xda developers page to get the most out of it

not to sure about the inerworking diffference between aps2sd and aps2sd+. If you have any where I can take a look at some information I will have a look when I have a spare 20min

To whoever was asking, ContactsProvider manages the contacts database, while Contacts.apk is the front end.

Yep, like I said I couldn't run IGO pre-installed on my ext2 because when it starts loading information phone runs out of memory. Then I've tried to uninstall it ant installing again, fail, installation couldn't perform because of low space.

That won't prevent me from using your rom, since it's the best 2.1 so far. But like everyone says it'll be great if a2sd behaves normally. Can't you port a2sd+ from paul's rom or shadow's? Both works ok.

Great work mate! :(

thanks for your reply man, appreciate it, besides this is the ROM i really wanna use, just this little annoyance with the space we have on our pulses :(

about A2SD+ i dunno but you (or we) can ask Paul how he implemented in MCR roms,

cool...moving dalvik-cache to SD is simply done by running 'a2sd cache' in adb shell.

# a2sd cache

[ ] Mounting /data as read-write

[ ] Starting A2SD in cache mode

Thank's mate, that worked. Now IGO were installed successfully. But overall speed decreased a lotttttt! It's clear that cache on sd is responsable for that =/

I moved the cache back to the phone and the good speed is back! Omg.. why we always have to make hard choices? =/

Now iGO doesn't load again =/

Noticing problems with Gallery 3D. It freezes, crashes, sometimes causes Voice Search to FC and the menu buttons in vertical mode are cut off. I've noticed this with this ROM and Paul's (and the official one installed through an apk). It doesn't do it all the time.

The Voice Search FC isn't probably 100% down to Gallery though, I've noticed it does it from time to time when loading full webpages or intensive programs (probably memory related).

Apart from that, nice and quick. Good stuff.

Oh and in Wallpapers I noticed I only have three. The rest are all just empty black boxes. Is it meant to be that way?

Does wi fi work for anyone? It doesn't for me - just switches off saying unable to scan?

Also how do I add google voice search? Its not included in market. Appart from that looks good, and is way faster then pauls 2.1 Hungarian MCR!

sorry for laz. have u tried:

****Some people are having issues with wireless. This looks like an issue from installing the extra update.app that came with the Hungarian ROM. From reading the posts I think a workaround is to reflash your PULSE with just the Hungarian ROM and then flash this ROM. ****

???

What happens if I don't use the hungarian extra update? What am I missing? I presume nothing, if that just updates the t-mob rom and not the system files/formats

Replying now via sunrise 2.1 R6 hooked up to wireless. I didn't bother with Hungarian extra update.

Just went from main 2.1update to sunrise. Suggest you flash hungarian again & then flash sunrise over top

Wasn't meant to be that way. I put the default launcher on a diet and reduced it from 6mb -> 900~kb by removing out most of the wallpapers. Unfortunatly the side effect of this was the black box's you see.

will we have another revised version (if there is anything to revise) of your rom? (just asking kindely) :(

Thanks for the info, I am just worried that its to late now that I've updated it. I'm now thinking it must have affected the firmware/hardware drivers if the rom update doesn't overide it. Anyone else tried Hungarian extra update and then gone back having realised wifi isn't working?
