Guest Fusion0306 Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 (edited) Is it safe to delete Email.apk and Email.odex (in this rom) in /system/app folder? I only use Gmail app. Where can i find Roadsync? I want to delete it too but I cant seem to fint it. I'm using Root explorer. P.s. I asked this question before, but no one answered so I'll ask again: Do I have to remountSD:ext every time i turn off my phone or when I mount my sd to my PC? Edited June 1, 2010 by Fusion0306

Guest JohnPorter Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 I can't seen to get to delete the files? Sorted! Excellent ROM, using with hardly no issue, well there is one, it won't connect to wireless network secured with WSP-PSK2?
Guest goce.nakov Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Anyone, please answer :( You can simply uninstall RoadSync from System Settings/Aplications and you should not delete Email.apk....I think there was some issue there..search on the forum

Guest giryan Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Paul? An Update soon??? He will I'm sure, he did say earlier that he wasn't going to be doing it this week though.
Guest howardbut Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Hi All, Have been using this custom Rom for 2 days and I received quite a few random thread messages such as "android.core" and "voice.search"not responding etc. In addition the keypad doesn't show up everytime I click on text box, in which I believe is due to the voice.search problem. I wonder if anyone has similar situation? I upgraded from T-mobile Stock Dec Rom to HU 2.1 Rom, and then apply the R7. Lastly I like to thank all the great programmers who share their work here. Howard

Howard What worked for me: 1. Install Hungarian Rom 2. Install CUSTOMIZED_HU 3. Install the custom recovery 4. Wipe System and dalvik-cache 5. Flash R7 with A2SD+ 6. Install CUSTOMIZED_HU again No voice.search FC's anymore. Just one acore FC at startup. :(

Guest pandinusimp Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Anyone install "customized _hu" again? Yes, i did. After the installation your phone is wiped. But the apps are still there.
Guest naniteboy Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Does anyone have this "problem" - my ringer volume starts very low and then increases up to the max in short time intervals. This seems like something that would be optional but I can't seem to find this option anywhere :/ Is it a bug, or is it a "feature" (in Android 2.1 or just in this ROM)?

Guest le_lutin Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 I've had this Rom for a few days now and overall, i'm fairly happy (stability for example has been awesome). The T-Mob launcher is actually quite fast - as a side question, how come the T-Mob launcher never has to restart in the same way as, say LaucherPro? I do find some things a bit slow though - clicking on the message icon to actually viewing my SMS inbox takes at least two seconds which (and I know it doesn't sound like much) does get a bit annoying after a while Does anyone else experience this slowness?
Guest Flight Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Paul, when will you release a Vanilla version of 2.1 MCR?
Guest naniteboy Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Does anyone else experience this slowness? Yes - I tried quite a few launchers with 2.1 from Paul (currently using HelixLauncher 1 though :() and all have the same behavior. It seems they are unloaded when some "larger" app is working (to me this also happens when I leave Market) and when it comes back it takes few seconds to load all the widgets and become operational - it's getting annoying - as you said. SMS app is also slow - I don't know; some thing seems faster and smoother, some things are laggy - I'm fairly convinced that we need Paul's version of Vanilla ROM without all this T-Mobile crap. Maybe A2SD+ also is simply to slow with cache on SD. Or the memory is really slow (as someone, somewhere [too many threads :(] suggested - his SD was faster than RAM). Overall, I didn't have big problems with this ROM if I ignore this laggy behavior, and that annoying increasing ringer - but today, my Pulse simply froze when entering Market ... I had to take the battery out. Paul said he's busy 'till Friday so we'll simply have to wait :o
Guest naniteboy Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 it is a "future" :(.....which in my opinion is very useful well - you have, of course, right to your opinion - but I want it off and ringing normally from the start (an option would be best - so I can have it my way, and you can have it your way :()
Guest bounty123 Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 (edited) It seems they are unloaded when some "larger" app is working (to me this also happens when I leave Market) and when it comes back it Try setting "ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1" at the end of /data/local.prop. For me it helps a lot, launcherpro almost never gets kicked out of the memory. I used it way back in 1.5 times as well, still works, I don't even see why isn't it default instead of 4. Setting it to 0 is not good though, because then it _never_ gets kicked out of the mem, even if the device would need it to run something - so you end up like not being able to run iGO or something. Guest SonMauri Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 So, anyone knows this will work on a non T-mobile U8220-6 ? I live in Chile and i already installed the vanilla 2.1 update 8 someone build some time ago, but since apparently there no going back to 1.5 after this update i wanna be real sure this wont break my touchscreen as the superboot boot.img do on my device.

I saw this, tried rootexplorer but it FC's on me all the time and forgot about it - thank you for reminding me :( is there another way to do it?
Guest bounty123 Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 (edited) yes ... I saw this, tried rootexplorer but it FC's on me all the time and forgot about it - thank you for reminding me :( is there another way to do it? Easiest way maybe is get a root prompt (su+enter) in a terminal emulator like better terminal em., and type: echo ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1 >> /data/local.prop Another way if you prefer editing on your PC is to adb pull the file, edit it and then adb push it back. Ah and you need a reboot after that to get it working, iirc. You can check the actual value by issueing getprop ro.HOME_APP_ADJ in the terminal. Edited June 2, 2010 by bounty123
