The 3D gallery app doesn't work in landscape, as it duplicate the portrait view multiple times (quite tricky to describe)

Anyone else experiencing this problem

Read 2 pages before mate...there is a link where you can download newer version and installit (you must installit thry RootExplorer).

Thank you Paul! but I keep getting acor process error on every reboot. Hope it will be fixed in close future. Autokiller should help but this is not from you Paul. :(

When I long press menu button it goes to search now and it searches not just contacts but everything on the phone. It is good but the bad thing is that whenever I click on found contact in there I get contact details open and acore process fc right after, so no use of that search function.

Please share the vanilla contacts apk, thats the only think I still need :(

I miss that too, there are groups and better management in general

each way i tested to install a baked ROM, installation aborted with error message "Line blabla Busybox........." what can i do ? No Problems with other 2.1 ROMs

Anyway, the 1.5-rom worked much better for me, cause it was rock-stable and much faster when changing between several apps. Merde! there is no way back to 1.5 :-(

Strangely I don't have the problems you mention.

Btw. there is a little trick which most of the times prevents the system from closing the home app - it will close everything else before it. Append "ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1" to the end of /data/local.prop. If you make it 0 then it will never close it, but that can cause problems sometimes :(

Great stuff - this ROM is working very nicely already. Only major issue I've found is missing apps in the market

I wondered if it's somehow down to the region settings, but there's another suggestion that it's due to it being an unoffical cooked ROM and the

market hides stuff for copy protection, and that this was solved in the older MCRs.

I have two problems with the Stock 2.1 Rom. Could anyone test if they also appear on a fresh cooked ROM ?

1 ) My Alarm clock does not work to great. Sometimes it doesn't wake me up, sometimes it just starts ringing some minutes after the time I wanted it to ring.

2 ) The stock keyboard is smaller than it was in previous releases. I can use other keyboards, but I like the stock keyboard...

Oh and another minor issue - the 3d gallery looks beautiful but the rendering and layout breaks (with a weird interlaced effect) when rotating from portrait to landscape and sometimes when using the camera and returning to it (possibly the same issue as the camera is usually used in landscape)

I guess it's nabbed from another device with different screen characteristics.

So now that there is a working 2.1 would it be possible to port the desire's camera app? Or even better the X10's?

You again?!?!?! :( What vanilla apps did you install, what about the RBM phone.apk and Contacts, it has an awesome interface and T9 dialing. If you combine all of that PLEASE upload a rom, I'm kinda used to have a starkos rom on my Pulse :( Cheers!

Only made the changes I listed above, whereby all the apks can be found by extracting my old rom (contacts.apk, contactsprovider.apk, mms.apk) as well as deleting the dialer & call log apks. I definitely won't be releasing any vanilla roms this time mainly for two reasons: 1) there will be plenty of people doing it anyway, & 2) Now this rom is more final and has an online kitchen, I would basically be ripping off Paul's hard work!

I'm just glad we've now all got a stable/fast 2.1 that can comfortably replace the old 1.7 MCR :o

i baken my ROM with the german language pack of touchpal but there is no german language installed.

I wanted to install the german language pack from the market. But my market doesn't find touchpal. How can i install the german language pack?

If you're trying to install Amon-RA make sure you have the 2.1 drivers installed!

i cant get to work A2SD+.... Do i need to do a "ext:2 to ext:3" or not....

I can't get it working either.I think i'm just going to wait til I have some money,go ad free and download the kitchen with A2SD rather than A2SD+.

Edit: If people are swapping out things for stock ones, remember to delete the associated .odex files as well!

Cool :( I downloaded it, can you help me how could i safely replace the contacts, provider and mms apps? Should I boot into recovery and adb pull/push from there? Or what is the preferred method?

The way I did it was to incorporate it into Paul's rom and flash from scratch, but it should work fine using adb or even a file explorer such as Root Explorer. Just remember to also delete the odex files and do a nand backup before you start ha
