Is it possible to uninstall the "HTC People" application?

Hi,

The "HTC People" has problems with the Bulgarian letters - I cannot search names written in cyrillic. The standard android contact manager that comes in the Modacos's rom has no problem with the cyrillic letters and I want to use it and to get rid of the "HTC People" application. Can I, and how to do it?
