Guest peter_pg Posted June 21, 2010 Report Posted June 21, 2010 looks that way, they probably working on releasing there new phones and forgetting about us I think the problem is that the Samsung Firmware Downloader, wich was the "substitute" of Secany, is down and we haven't yet a new Secany... someone who post new firmwares. Since he disappears, the only way wss Firmware Downloader by Quattro Formaggi. Now nothing. :-(
Guest AndrewTan Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 Omnia II is a year + old. I believe new ROM is gonna soon gone. Won't be any updates soon.
Guest jebise Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 i always hated apple products but the only product that appealed to me was the itouch/iphone which i was thinking of getting vs the omnia 2 and so glad i did not since the hardware is so s***. But will be getting the iphone 4 since it far superior to out slow omnia now.

Guest thegunners Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 think. i'll keep my o2 until somebody succesfully integrate android into this phone
Guest silviaccio1 Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 O2 is not so bad, no new ROMs? well, I will keep my O2 and when it will be out of guarranty I will cook my ROM to enhance its performance. I don't want to spend over 300 euros each year just to have a new toy. Let the APPLE's people doing it.
Guest DunKnow Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 (edited) Why not wait till for end of year for mobile phones with dual core processors by Qualcomm running at 1.5ghz? haha.. that will be great! hmm lets hope that Samsung will still release roms for Omnia II but i feel that they would be focusing on phones such as Galaxy S. Edited June 22, 2010 by DunKnow
Guest jebise Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 think. i'll keep my o2 until somebody succesfully integrate android into this phone well keep waiting i love the O2 as much as the next guy and android will make the phone prefect. But that day is far FAR away, the team just got sound working after many months and there is still more to go like GSM, Data, GPS drivers. Even after that still will need a lot of tweaking and fixes to get it as stable as a real android phone not to menchion video drivers and if it will see the 16GB internal memory. This project will take this entire year if not longer at the rate its been going, since it is all done from scratch. I'm not due for an upgrade till January 2011 so by that time i may change my mind if bell canada gets better phones then the iphone 4. I really want the HTC desire, will have to do with the iphone.
Guest Tendeiro Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 I though something yesterday, that the reason behind the absence of JF rom is... vacations ;) They are as much workers as anybody else, so they do must have vacations. Could that be the reason? June, July and August are the most common months for vacations.

May be ......specially South Korea have qualified for The last 16 of the World CUP.. ;) :( if they go further to the semifinals, then the next ROM will be JH or JI :) :D Edited June 23, 2010 by abdelrahim
Guest Astracat_95 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 I hope Samsung will improve battery use on the next Rom, as JE5/JE3 isn't very good compared to the one before, JE1. I have been using JE5/JE3 since last Sunday and it drains the battery within a day! I have to charge almost twice a day! So I am going back to JE1 for the time being. Stuff running on my Omnia 2: SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.5 Sygic Mobile Maps 10 (only when req'd, of course) CleanRam Opera Mobile 10 S2U2

Something's wrong with your flash, I agree with viewdetails. There is probably nothing wrong with his 'flash'. SPB mobile shell is known to be a battery lover, and S2U2 also love a bit of juice. Try using your phone without mobile shell and your battery will probably last much longer. I'm using mobile shell too and my battery lasts about 1 day. This has hardly changed throughout the different ROM versions both 6.1, 6.5 and 6.5.3 (allthough 6.1 was much better with almost 2 days).

Guest plguzman Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 Mobile Shell per se doesn't drain the battery, the data connection does. Without data connection my battery lasts about 5 days or so. MS has some RAM leakage, but no different than the other UI's like Sense or WAD, so I blame Windows on that one more than SPBMS.

Eboot too? Did you check the radiobox Erase PDA, and uncheck Preserve data...? If yes, try to search here in modaco, how to SOC Reset your battery.

I have flashed my device dozens of times including the official releases and there are hardly any differences concerning batttery life. And I don't have a continuous WIFI connection nor a continuous data connection.
