I'm sure this will work over here on the i8000. But since I don't have one, I'll have to suffice with having you guys being my test buddies.

1. Dump the rom using DSKDUMP.exe(http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-verizon-sch-i920-omnia-ii-http-i8000-modaco-com/300860/dskdump-2-0/)

2. Copy the rom from the storage card to a safe location. Name is rom_dump.bin on storage card.

3. Rename the file to pda.nb

4. Install OsKitchen http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=628948

5. Copy the i900 folder under \Resources\Devices Database(in the OsKitchen directory) and rename it to Samsung i8000.

6. Edit the xml file inside to look like this

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

<DeviceDefinition xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">

<Name Brand="Samsung" Name="GT-I8000" />

<AlternateName Brand="Samsung" Name="Omnia II" />

<AlternateName Brand="Samsung" Name="GT-I8000" />

</DeviceDefinition>

7. Open osKitchen.

8. Under device model select Samsung GT-I8000.

9. For the rom update file: open up rom file you renamed back up at step 3.

10. There you have it!

Also if any of you cooks get this to work. Please try and port over some of your roms to your i920 brothers. We only have about 3 roms atm.

You still have to port a custom xip file over, which I haven't done yet even on the i920 forums. Heres a link on how to do it: http://www.eten-users.eu/index.php?showtopic=13349

Have fun!

I've tried that kitchen but it did not pass through platformrebuilder... always gave me errors... so I had to move my packages to Wes58's RomTool...

But thanks anyway! Always nice to show our options... I used it to dump a HTC oficial ROM.

I've tried that kitchen but it did not pass through platformrebuilder... always gave me errors... so I had to move my packages to Wes58's RomTool...

But thanks anyway! Always nice to show our options... I used it to dump a HTC oficial ROM.

Extracted from the first post of Oskitchen:

Supported devices

* HTC: Artemis, Athena, Blackstone, Diamond, Elf, Gene, HD Mini, Herald, Hermes, Iolite, Jade, Kaiser, Leo, Mega, Nike, Opal, Polaris, Pharos, Raphael, Rhodium, Sedna, Titan, Topaz, Trinity, Vogue, Whitestone

* Palm: Treo Pro

* Sony-Ericsson: Xperia X1 (HTC Kovsky)

* Samsung: i900 (Omnia), i910 (Omnia CDMA?) (delete the giisr.dll in the OEMXIPKernel folder or the ROM won't boot)

* Other devices, with caveats: as long as you have tools to convert between NB and your phone format the kitchen should work fine unless platformrebuilder doesn't support your device (I.E. it crashes). If platformrebuilder DOES NOT support your device you can still put a dummy NK.exe from another device to stop platformrebuilder from crashing (be sure the NK version (6.1/6.5) is the same) and insert your own crafted XIP.bin (there's a setting in Advanced Tweaks to use a custom xip file).

I put the nk.exe of htc rhodium on my oemxipkernel, and select on advanced tweaks->Custom xip file the xip_out.bin that I obtains with wes58 tool, and the rom building is succesful, I obtain a .nb archive, and convert it to nb0 with pakos Executor. But during cooking it gives me an error: It can't find the archive "os.nb.payload.new.new", I have an "os.nb.payload.new" archive, so I rename it with the double extension and I obtain the final rom, but with no modifications(like stock rom).

Well, finally I solved the issue of temporary os.nb file, and I decide to flash my phone with the final rom. It boots!!!! But it seems like the OEM's packages aren't recognized, only touch player appears on start menu. Only appears Windows settings, without icon, like a folder. All windows programs appear and work fine but with default ugly icons. And the phone doesn't work... Any idea???
