Guest Spike8585 Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 Anyone in Quebec, Canada have a programmer? Or know where to buy one in Canada?
Guest scotty3g Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 i used the v1.3 beta firmware with the old baseband and it totally shits itself exactly like what happened in version v1.0 rebel firmware. will try new baseband upgrade now.
Guest flapheadx Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Thanks 4 link, rebelsim says this will fix it to work with a 2.2 baseband, will try asap when i get home from work EDIT: updated my rebelsim and its working fine with 1.20 newbb Which mode do you use? I've not yet tried all modes, but I can't get data to work... so far, every mode I've tried says either Network locked or Roaming...
Guest dude1966 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Moved today to the new BB, updated the rebelsim with v1.3 ....does work (in the netherlands) however shows the R for roaming. Not sure if it will work abroad.
Guest Spike8585 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Are any of the other unlock methods valid? I have seen a few pop up, but they may be scams. Maybe its best to ditch the rebel if they are real?

Guest dude1966 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 I have asked Rebelsim if an possible improvement on v1.3 beta is on its way....lets hope since the beta has issues not allowing the upgrade to 2.2 BB
Guest numpxp Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Are any of the other unlock methods valid? I have seen a few pop up, but they may be scams. Maybe its best to ditch the rebel if they are real? This one is from Rebelsim. It should be valid http://dellstreakunlock.com/
Guest scotty3g Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 This one is from Rebelsim. It should be valid http://dellstreakunlock.com/ gone back from V1.3 to V1.2 rebel firmware and flashed back to 1.6 00. Will leave it here until new Rebel firmware is 100% ready for 2.2.
Guest dude1966 Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 Rebelsim Beta firmware v1.3 doesn't work for me together with BB 2.2. The only way getting an GSM connection up is via the known simshuffle.
Guest mmp669 Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 Rebelsim Beta firmware v1.3 doesn't work with office 2.2. it's worked on 2G, when I turned 3G on, can only make phone calls but cannot receive any and the R is on.
Guest rebelsimcard Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 Rebelsim Beta firmware v1.3 doesn't work with office 2.2. it's worked on 2G, when I turned 3G on, can only make phone calls but cannot receive any and the R is on. Hi yes this is why its a beta firmware. also im sure users find a way to downgrade baseband to 2.1 android and find a work around to use with v1.2 and our teams will study the new release soon and see if any thing can be done. Rebel simcard
Guest DoctorWkt Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 I've got an O2 Streak with 21 baseband and a RebelSim card with 1.2 firmware. Can anybody tell me if I can flash to 00 baseband and use the RebelSim card + 1.2 firmware to still make voice calls? I don't need 2G/3G, just voice. I've ordered a compact programmer to upgrade the RebelSim card to 1.3, but while I wait for it to arrive, I want to switch up to Steve's Froyo. Thanks, Warren
Guest leakym Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 Yo, The 1.3 work with the Steve's Froyo??
Guest scotty3g Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 Yo, The 1.3 work with the Steve's Froyo?? NO, the most reliable build is the official O2 2.1 with Rebel 1.2 Firmware. Dell's 2.2 firmware is still undergoing changes, Dell's 2.2 build which is 309 build is already obselete so my recommendation is just wait a couple of weeks for the revisions to be stable.
Guest Edrill Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 Flashed Steve's 1.4.1 a while back. I've had the Rebel SIM since I got the Streak running on official 2.1. It's an O2 locked piece. Back then, I had everything working fine with the Streak. Calls, text, 3G, etc. I upgraded to the official 2.2 when it was released, and then soon after, went to 1.4.1, knowing fully well that the Rebel SIM would stop functioning. Oddly enough, I put the Rebel SIM along with my SIM into the Streak just for kicks, and the Streak booted up and was on the network!! Of course, all I could do was make calls and send texts. Couldn't receive either. And data was a complete no-go, whether 2G or 3G. And if I loose connectivity due to poor coverage or if I reboot the phone, I have to do a SIM shuffle with another unlocked phone to get it working in the Streak again. Not much, I know, but perhaps there is hope that with a firmware upgrade, the RebelSIM should be able to work fine with the newer ROMs. Hopefully, it will work fine with 3G and eliminate the need for a SIM shuffle!
Guest BrumBrum74 Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 (edited) I got to borrow a programmer from a friend and I got ok when I flashed the new 1.3 beta firmware. Is there a way for me to check that the RebelSim actually has the 1.3 beta firmware loaded?`Want to make sure it's upgraded before I upgrade my Streak. Edit: The programmer I tried with didn't work. Guest twe Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 Is there any news from rebel sim if they are looking into fixing the problem with the Dell Streak? I would like to be able to upgrade to the latest v2.2 build but not if I can't use the phone afterwards.
Guest scotty3g Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 Note to Rebel. The official Dell 2.2 is now out, if you could look at the latest version and when you release the firmware just add a note which basedband this was tested with so we don;t need to guess. There's lot's of versions of Dell Froyo all with different basebands and this will continue. thanks
Guest BrumBrum74 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Is there a way I can buy an unlock code for Dell Streak locked to O2?
Guest twe Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 (edited) I just got this response from O2 this morning: "Thank you for your email. We're sorry to inform you this. The Dell streak can't be unlocked, it's an O2 exclusive handset and we want Dell streak customers to have the best customer experience." Bit annoying, but there are other methods but they cost stupid amounts of money. Edited November 25, 2010 by twe
Guest BrumBrum74 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Any links for these? Don't want to send my Streak away. But would pay some money for an unlock code.

Rebel simcard since when beta=not working. I think beta means it works but has some bug that needs fixing.
Guest twe Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Thats correct, otherwise its Alpha stage.
