Why does my phone keep auto connecting my gprs? i already off the weather update.

Hey everyone,

this is my first post on this awesome board. As off yesterday i'm using the 23668 build rom (megalite) and i'm loving it!

Except for one major issue... When i open my phone (to use the physical keyboard) and then close it again, Sense is suddenly not full screen anymore. it is smaller en uses only the left lower corner of the screen... It takes a reboot to fix this...

Is this a known problem, and (more importantly) how do i fix this??

//edit; New problem... Sending a SMS doesn't work most of the time. Sending a sms usually (sometimes it just works, but most of the time it doesn't) results in the sms ending up in outbox. Sending won't work until i perform a soft reset...

just dont close or open the keyboard when animation is in progress,so wait till the message is send wait a sec,then close it

Just a curious question about the AMOLED screen of our phone in relation to this ROM. Since the phone's screen flashes randomly a lot of times (because of the wifi tweak), will it shorten the lifespan of our amoled screen? Just like when you turn a light bulb on and off frequently, it quickly shorten the lifespan of the bulb compared to just keeping it on.

I think not. According to technical specs, a led bulb has a lifespan of 100,000 hours of continuous usage, so that's like 12 years. Even if ever the flashing will cause a minus in the life span, it would be unnoticeable.

Also LED emits cold light, which turns on rapidly, when electricity is applied, which means it doesn't generate heat that may deteriorate it.

At this setup you will havea blazing fast Sense,(see Sense video 7-10-10) though be informed of the cons below.

This is what me and the testers talking about when we mention "the Tweak"

- Set Performance to Normal (not High,Low or Auto)

- Run Easy Set S3Clock (if you don't know how to use S3Clock read here:http://www.modaco.com/content/b7610-omnia-pro-b7610-modaco-com/311584/easy-set-s3clock/) and set speed to 1Ghz (1Ghz?!?!...yup...actually you can set it 'til 1158Mhz)

Some of you might say "I thought S3Clock will only work when performance is set to Auto or High?" and "It will freeze device when set to 950Mhz to 1Ghz"...

So what is in this ROM, that will let you go up to 1Ghz speed?

Hmmm, maybe there's something special in this ROM :(

Pros: The fastest sense you can imagine, it isn't that battery consuming...

Cons:

I call Level 3 set up as the "Fake OC" .Strangely, not all apps will recognize (and run) at the 1Ghz speed. For example, even though Sense will be fast, benchmarking tools, like the one in SK Tools, will just measure a speed as of only about 600Mhz. Yup weird.

Some apps, like Samsung Camera, will crash and if you connect device to anything that will make battery charge (like obviously, the charger or connecting it to your PC) and try to turn off device by using the power button (long press end key) the device will freeze.

Verdict: Unless you charge it, turn it off and launch the camera while you are in this setup, it is Stable. A work around will be instead of using 1Ghz+, you can choose 900Mhz to 950Mhz (most apps, including the camera, will still work and not crash at these speeds).

BTW, I encountered a possible bug when writing a new SMS message. When I tap to add recipients and click the magnifying lens icon then select PhoneBook, my contact lists won't show up. please help.

After working with this ROM for a week or so, I have to conclude that it's not stable enough. I don't OC the CPU, the Samsung Settings are on "Auto", but still HTC Sense manages to "freeze" once every day or so. Another problem is the GPRS/UMT-connection, which doesn't seem to disconnect on idle (despite I set the time-out at 2 minutes). Another problem is the screen which keeps on turning itself on, despite the tweaking of the wifi registry keys. The result is an empty battery within 24 hours (with the stock ROM it manages to run three days), and a necessary soft-reset when Sense freezes.

I had the same problems so I've flashed my phone with the 21911 JC2 rom from Sumit Bhardwajs.

This rom seems stable and hasn't the problem that the screen turns it self on.

For me it is not that fast as the other users wrote and the response of the screen when tapping the close button is not what I like it to be, but overall for me this rom is more stable then the rom from daskalos.

For now I am waiting for the new rom from dreamtheater39 which will be much quicker as he said

I've flashed the megalite 6.5.5 (no Sense 23654), it's quite brilliant, but I have problems getting the camera to work. Installing the cab goes well, starting the camera gives an error: Cannot be opened. Not signed with trusted certificate or one of its components cannot be found. Try to reinstall if problem persists. Any info on that?

I tried this yesterday. It's quite fast, the data-connections disconnect when idle, and the screen doesn't turn on by itself. And the battery wasn't even half down after 24h. Quite a fast and stable ROM.

Unfortunately, I really miss Sense :)
