Guest twrock Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 It's only for the new U8220 with larger memory. Will not fit on U8230 or Pulse. fibblesan, I believe this one did fit on the "pulse". There was another that was released for the large memory versions of the phone. But although this one had yet another partition scheme, with less userspace in the end, it could be flashed onto our phones.
Guest TaiwanCHT8k Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Did you try to use the .zip file I uploaded? I have used this method to install HanvonCalla a number of times. This avoids "pushing" (needing to know how to use ADB). What I was trying to explain there was that IF it failed to install, it was probably a lack of space. Try it and see if it works for you on some non-Chinese enabled rom. succeed! ...I probably made an error while editing the update script on my trial.

Guest TaiwanCHT8k Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 (edited) Any idea what it is? I'm downloading now, but I don't have a phone to try it on. good for you.. DO NOT flash it directly onto your phone, extract it instead I think U8220-6 is a provider-specific model, built for Hong Kong PCCW mobile... It has fewer radio bands or something.. ----[update]----------------------------------------------------------- U8220-6: 3G: WCDMA/HSDPA/HSUPA (850/1900/2100) 2G: GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900) U8220 3G: 900/2100 2G: 900/1800/1900 picked up the info again on Huawei chinese technical support forum Edited December 3, 2010 by TaiwanCHT8k

Guest unp Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 Regarding the U8220-6 V100R001C00B282. Just DON'T DO IT!!! I have a HUAWEI 8220-6 and it totally messed it up: The update installed and it boots up but within 10 seconds of getting to the desktop it freezes and then reboots. I couldn't get to the about to figure out what version it is. You cannot currently downgrade and go back since the new firmware version gives you the 'OEMSBL version unmatched' when trying the Huawei downgrade uppdate.app . I have a NANDROID backup of my previous FLB 1.7 but currently no way of applying it. Any help would be appreciated on how to sort this mess

Have you located and tried both? Edited December 4, 2010 by twrock
Guest unp Posted December 5, 2010 Report Posted December 5, 2010 If I recall correctly, there were two different "time machines" put out by Huawei. Have you located and tried both? Yes, I found the link on their community forum - whenever it displays the threads. I also put a message there for them to revise it... maybe one day! You can open the update.app with a text or hex editor and see which firmware revisions it recognizes and the second one has more listed in it but not the latest. Any tampering with the file leads to a read failure since the file signature is invalidated. :-(
