I haven't read through this whole thread but if someone can tell me if problem with Kies under newest GTX rom is known or is it just me? Active Sync works well but Kies just "connecting the device" indefinitely.

Resolved (kinda...): Installed other rom, used kies, used PIM Backup, installed GTX and restored everything using PIM Backup. It worked but it's not the correct way...

Hello,

I just installed dec20 standard energy sense rom. Everything runs great, and smoothly. This might me something that I screwed up but my emails on google and windows live cannot connect with the server when using data connection, that is strange cause while using wi fi it connects no problem. Also my opera, windows market and other applications connect through data without any problem.

Fixed the issue, reseted connections several times restarted the phone and deleted all email accounts and setup again.

Other thing is that I have little ram available but that is something that we cannot do much about, I am not willing to change start menu to compact. Even when done so it just took more time for the system to use up all memory. it runs down below 10mb and makes camera and Fpesce not launch. If you have any tricks that could make a stable 15 - 20 free all the time I am opened for suggestions.

I had no problem using the compact menu back when I used NRG's ROMs but even with it the RAM problem really kept haunting our phones. What grieved me more was that NRG ROMs are really great, beautiful, well packed and frequently updated, all of these making them some of the best ROMs around. But things like RAM leak and little battery life made me wonder around looking for an alternative. I love CHT and it really works best on NRG, period... well, at least until I tried something messy but with amazing results. Maybe it will be a nice option for you... ;)

Well, we have great Sense ROMs for our Omnia2 around here nowadays, specially n00body/Rapid's and MS Team's. They work great, are very stable, lightning fast and have a pretty nice battery life and a nice ammount of free RAM, even after days of use without resets. But neither of them have CHT integrated yet. And CHT is what makes Sense to look THAT cool, right? ;) The thing is, CHT options crashes a lot, NRG ROM or any other, but those are very easy to work around since these options on regedit are easy to find (HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila) and set manually. But layout setup... oh, that's tricky! And only NRG ROMs have it's interface working on our Omnia2.

How to have it all? Well, a little bit of patience and a little bit more of work and that's it, we can get it all. Steps as follows:

1. Start flashing NRG's CHT 2 ROM. Config CHT options with CHT Editor, or manually on regedit;

2. Setup up your layouts (home screens and lock screen). Save the configuration with the CHT Editor to a file in your external card. You can even setup your quicklinks to make things easier on the final setup step since they will be kept (except the ones you put contacts, those will be lost);

3. Change the language of the phone to force it to reset for the original ROM. Wait until it finishes and complete the align screen setup to start the phone;

4. Backup your internal memory and use the option "Clear Memory" in the Memory Settings of the Samsung Settings. It will clear ALL memory (device and internal memory), removing all and any settings you ever made. Wait until it finishes, hard reset and complete the align screen setup to start the phone. I use this step as a security measure since I've already experienced some settings to survive hard resets and even the language change;

5. Now flash your prefered Sense ROM (non NRG this time, of course), hard reset and soft reset once so it stabilizes, install CHT and CHT Editor and restore the configuration file you saved when you had NRG ROM up;

6. Soft reset and your done.

I know it takes a good measure of time to finish but, believe me, you won't regret it! I did it using n00body/Rapid's Sense ROM version JJ1 build 21895. Right now I have it running for 10 days with no problems. My last soft reset was 3+ days ago after changing some configurations on registry and I fully recharged 2 days ago. I have now 51% battery life (with data pack usage, lots of calls with some long ones since 2 days ago was my birthday and lots of people called me, some gaming, some photos taken, some photos seen,...) and 57MB of RAM using normal menu (didn't find compact menu cab yet to test it...), completely stable!

NRG, please don't get me wrong, ok!? I think your work is amazing and without it I could not even try what I described above since CHT layout edition would be impossible on any other ROM. What I did is just a work around while you, and the other chefs, advance with your work towards the definite Sense ROM for our Omnia2!

I had this problem. You have to configure your connection settings. AFAIK that restores the settings set on the sim and makes every app to connect through the default connection.

To do that, go to Samsung Settings > Network settings (4th tab) > Operator Settings

Choose your operator from the list and you're ready.

Thanks to master NRG for up-loading the Standard Sense 2.5 build #29007. It seems lighting fast. I hope to see 29007 in some new Roms....ie....sincity, touch of glass, etc.....maybe sometime soon????

Hi there. This new ROM is awesome. Thanks to NRG. I still have one problem though as it was in the previous ROMS too!!

The BT Hands Free just doesnt work with my Car audio. Can anyone please help me fix this. The devices get paired but remain in disconnected state. Thanks for reading.......

This is probably a registry entry or something... could somebody help me out on how to restore it?

Use SKTools; there's an option of enabling / disabling SIPs and also you can set the default one.

You simply need a small program called SIPChange. Try google it. Install and Set.

Anyone having problem with CHT2 Quicklinks --> toggle switch --> "Flight Mode"? It used to work in 1.8.5 but with the latest ROM with CHT2.0, this switch is not working, same goes for "Data" switch.

One question. I have installed the latest 28244 rom but i have one small problem.

I use Greek Keyboards and when I send a message the other one gets ??????? ?????? ???? ? ?? ? ????? as characters.

I have intalled other keyboards like Resco or Finger but with no luck.

Any suggestions?

That .exe is what I have as a default for the "Action" button! What do you have in yours as default? I want to make the action button working again; what should it point to in order for it to pop up the HTC action center?

I disabled the default Win Start Menu and replace it with MMApplauncher.

Saved 30 MB of program RAM and finally able to run my GPS application and my favorite Asphalt4 game.

Not sure if anyone interested.
