you get 20 pounds worth top up for and you only pay 99 pounds.

No, the fone is 99.99, and you have to buy a 20 topup at an orange shop

Might of misread scotty2's post, dunno if the argos fone already comes with a tenner on it.

I heard a rumour that it might be £79.99 in Orange stores some time during February (+£20 top up).

Argos - £89 plus pay for one top up, and get another free. That would make it the same as the deal above.

If you don't plan to use the PAYG sim, both are the same as the Pixmania deal at £100 for the handset.

I managed to reserve and buy a grey San Fran in my local Argos on Friday. I actually reserved 3 in different stores, just to make sure.

The staff didn't seem to know much about the free £10 topup offer, they still insisted that I purchase a £10 topup.

I've just registered the sim, I'll see if the £20 gets credited or not.

I picked up one i reserved at Argos on Thursday, the staff knew nothing about the free £10 credit and made me buy a top up card, however I inserted the sim and switched on and after about an hour I got a text off Orange to say that my free £10 credit had been applied to my number, I have still not registered my phone with Orange yet or added the £10 credit I had to buy in Argos.

Its screen by the way is TFT despite it being from the latest batch that were delivered to Argos the same morning as I bought it, I had to wait a while in Argos while they processed the goods in shipment (sitting on the doorstep at 8-30 am :P )

FYI: in france, the OSF costs 249 euro! (when bought without a program)

Something's fishy about argos, didn't you tell the employees that on the site it states

Free £10 airtime voucher.
?

Look here. They contradict themselves, on one side they say free 10 pounds airtime voucher but in the description they say 10 pounds voucher must be bought.

The Argos offer includes £10 free credit and £10 paid giving a total of £20 credit.

However, I am not having success getting either amount to be credited to my account!

The Argos deal is misleading as when you reserve one its states a price of £89.99. I was hoping to pay for mine using the automated machine thus getting it for £89.99 but it wouldn`t let me do that so had to got to the till where they insisted I pay the extra tenner!

Hard to get hold of these Greys Ones! But I managed to reserve one y'day and just picked it up.

In store there was confusion over the the "Free £10 airtime" - and as suggested on here you still have to buy another £10 one, then you get the other £10 on 'activation' - whatever that means!!!

Mines only been on 20 minutes, and still no credit - but I chose Dolphin, so not sure if that will start the process of giving me my free £10. I'll see later in the day!

I have been checking other Forums about this "Free £10 airtime" offer and some people have had problems actually getting it - even after registering the SIM (which according to the earlier poster is not necessary) - so ha ha, I wonder if I'll get mine! Orange apparently are not very helpful if you call them about the FREE airtime, so lets hope the automatic process kicks in to allocate mine!

I wonder if they just have a record of handsets sent to Argos and then just top it up if it matched the mobile number/IMEI code according to a database. I guess this process could have some flaws if some data is missing.....

Indeed, but when you take a prepaid card it only costs 169 euros ... only thing you need to do is unlock it for free at home! :D

The bouyges telecom shops still have some oled's though! (2-3 weeks ago)

Well, mines been on 2 hours now and still only 1p Credit LOL! I did get a Txt verifying my Dolphin package though, and I need to top up by £10 within 48 hours to get my FREE Internet and 300 Txts immediately. I wonder if my 'apparent' FREE £10 goes through this will count as a top up! Of coarse I have a feeling it's not going to work for some funny reason.

I'm a bit worried yours was applied within 1 hour. Did you already select a package before you got your FREE £10?

OK, so 5 hours later jus got a txt saying £10 has been added. It is very specific though and more at this link:

http://www.orange.co.uk/10credit/

So, only lasts a month, and it didn't affect my balance which is still 1p! So it really is to be used only for calls and Txts for 1 month. I presume if I now top up my Dolphin with my proper top up, any calls I make will eat away into the free £10 thing first until exhausted. So no good for Data Use or initating a calling plan.

Anyone who bought from ADVERTISING SPAM receive their free £10 credit? It's been 4 days and my credit is still at £0.01...

I can't directly comment, however many reviews had a lot of issues with ADVERTISING SPAM. Good luck with getting your credit though.

Can someone tell me whether the current UK SF is pianoblack or matte black?

I paid 189 euro's for the White OSF in Austria. As far as I can tell it's the same as in the UK, except of course for the ROM built for Austria (though all other languages are also available, it's just the links to websites that are Austrian). A bit much since I just missed out in Switserland (it's 80-88 euro's there), but hey, still a very nice phone for that price.

I have nothing but scorn for ADVERTISING SPAM. Took my money, posted the phone, then changed their mind and recalled the phone, NEVER TOLD ME, never responded to emails, kept my money for 2 weeks and only just refunded it yesterday, with no communication, no apology, no reason, nothing.

Pack of idiots. Wouldn't buy a phone from them even if it were 50quid less than elsewhere.

Rant over

They have a rule that only 2 phones can be ordered per houshold for specific period.

Could that be the reason so they cancelled it after checking?
