Where to buy the Orange San Francisco online (Grey / White)

Greetings. Just a quick update on stock at various outlets, having spent this afternoon attempting to track down one of these phones.

Went to Orange Shop in Chesterfield and was told that they only had white handsets in stock having sold their last grey one this morning. Orange are selling them for £99 plus a mandatory £20 top-up. That's a little steep compared to other outlets, although considering the problems some people are having getting one I probably would have taken it had it been in stock.

Next I tried phones4u and was told that they no longer stock this particular model. The guy said he didn't know why as it just stopped coming in.

Next stop Argos, who are completely out of stock. As in no store countrywide has any, or that's what the guy at the counter seemed to be saying. At any rate, he went to another computer to check on the date of the next delivery and told me they're not expected back in until the 24th of March. Ouch. Incidentally, Argos is selling this phone at a great price: £89.99 including a £10 top-up. That's a £30 cheaper outlay than what you'd be paying direct from an Orange shop.

Finally, I logged onto the Carphone Warehouse site this evening and was surprised to see that they were in stock there. I ended up getting one for £89.95 including a £10 top-up to be delivered to my local store between 7-9 am tomorrow morning(!) The guy on the phone did say that they only had two left in stock though.

Anyone found an UK store/individual willing to ship to Europe yet? The waiting is killing me.

I just found out this new deal going on:

http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk/mobile-p...-Francisco.html

That is the same as carphonewarehouse deal. Grey, no white.

I do not think you will find any UK sellers selling at normal (£89 + top up) or below (£79 + top up) prices who can deliver outside UK.

The only ones you can find are eaby sellers typically costing around £150-160 including shipping.

Was this online/phone or instore? Wife is on Orange PAYG, so a good option for us.

Wonder if they'll also honour the £20 discount for PAYG phones over £30 purchased in an Orange store....?!

You have to phone CS and negotiate.

Went into local CPW last Wednesday after seeing it on their website. Staff told me they don't sell it and wouldn't sell it as it is a 'locked' phone. Told them it was on their website so they looked and it was :( . They said I would have to oder it online. Ordered that morning and chose next day home delivery (would have had to wait until Friday for shop pickup). Card through the door on the Thursday from DHL as no one in and they came back Friday morning before I left for work to deliver. £89 in total.

This is my second SF. The one I bought from the Orange shop in December I have passed to my son and have de-organged it. Now need to unlock both phones as I have giffgaff sims waiting.

I placed an order for an Orange SF on the CPW website and it got rejected. It seems they are unable to verify my credit history as I had recently changed my residence. I can pick up one from the orange store but that means shelling out an additional £21. Any suggestions guys?

Cheers!

Have been checking my local Argos for a couple of weeks because I wanted another OSF (for my wife - not a bad swap eh???) and all the ones in my area NortheastEngland have had no stock. Saw that Orange had put the online one up to £99.99 plus £10 topup, CPW was £89.99 plus topup online only (yeh, my local CPW didn't have it and didn't know it was at CPW online and there were a couple of others at the same price.

Decided to wait and see and then I just happened to check Saturday night on Argos and my local one had ONE IN STOCK so I reserved it, picked it up the next morning £89.99 plus topup (which I will use on my Orange) so it is worth checking frequently.

Being an Orange PAYG customer did not help me, they (Orange still owe me the £30 porting in credit - still waiting and when CS phoned to apologise, I asked about a discount on another OSF but they would not hear of it). Still haven't resolved the £30 porting in credit and I am not holding my breath. I was really very nice to the Orange CS who phoned me to apologise about it but no way, would they give any discount on another phone. I tried but failed.

The catalogue companies (Very, ISME, Additions Direct) are doing both white and normal for £89 (inc delivery at ISME until 15th March) and you don't have to pay for 12 months if you use a credit account. You have to wait 7 days though. If you search UKHotDeals for introductory offers to the catalogue companies you can get further discounts sometimes. Also Quidco offer 6% for new customers or 2% for existing.

Sorry if this has been posted a million times, I don't know where to search for it but I notice some folk talking about getting an extra £30 or so credit from Orange, is this true? If so how does one go about getting that? I am not an existing customer though, this is my first Orange phone.

Thanks for any advice.

Try using a different card(or give your old address) and also the collect at local store option might work

Or not negotiate - I was a PAYG customer and the CS rep offered the £30 discount as soon as I asked about the San Francisco. If you're a legit customer then there's no reason to not try your luck.

After couple of rejections CPW accepted my order for the Orange SF over the phone on 7 Mar 2011. I am now eagerly awaiting delivery of my phone. Any idea how many days CPW takes to home deliver?

If you gave them an e-mail address they should have sent you a tracking number if not ring them to find out 1-3 days i would have thought

The day before you are due to arrive, make a reservation in one of the Argos stores where you may be. You are bound to find one with stock.

No, unless you find an old model somewhere you will receive a TFT one, as Argos seem to have restocked with TFT B10 firmware San Franciscos.

The TFT is quite good though, so I wouldn't worry about it.

If you want to check lots of Argos stores then use this website.

http://www.icheckstock.co.uk/

Argos only need a phone number or email for the reservation, so you should have no problem sorting that out.
