Forum virgin here too! I've just bought a San Francisco from Argos for £89.99... if I'd known about Orange student discount I would have gone there! Oh well, I'm impatient anyway. :D I'm currently running a Samsung Jet (totally stupid phone) and had had enough of the unresponsive touch screen and lack of apps. I was going to get a second hand iPhone or a new HTC Wildfire until I saw a review for this beauty on TechRadar. SOLD!

I plan to unlock the phone so I can use it on my Vodafone contract sim and then upgrade to Android 2.2 to get back some of the functions that Orange raped from the OS. I've now idea how to do this though, or what ROM to use. Any hints would be very much appreciated.

Just ordered one over the phone, I managed to get it for £79.99 all in, as an existing Orange PAYG customer, despite not having topped up since November :D .

Pretty painless, it's arriving on Friday, to replace my old OLED model that I managed to wreck :D .

So far I love the phone too. When I touch the screen stuff actually happens and it feels really well made! I love how easy it is to have exchange accounts on the Orange Mail app, so it's a bit a of a biatch that it's only a trial. I certainly won't be paying for it so looks like I'm on the trawl for a decent mail app. :D

Bought a San Francisco from an Argos in London last week, one of the last ones in stock. Turned out it was faulty (wifi not working) so had to return. Got a full refund without questions asked so keeping an eye on their stock now... Out of curiosity I went to an Orange shop but there it sells for 20GBP more (99+20)

I bought mine in tesco today, it was £95+5 topup (you need to spend £30 on groceries, just bring in a receipt or something)

12 month warranty receipt, sounds good to me

ZTE Blade is for sale in Belgium since yesterday. Available via Mobistar (Service Provider) for €150, normally SIMlock free (gonna check when I find one later today).

They sell them as "San Francisco" but aren't branded with the Orange logo, they also don't feature the crap Orange software.

According to the Mobistar site they are the AMOLED version.
