Happened to me as well m8, delete the file from sd card and put back in again, make sure it's in the root directory of sd card, I took the usb lead out, removed battery, reassembled the phone, usb back in, turned on and it flashed perfect.

Anyone else not able to add a Facebook account in accounts & sync?

Could anyone tell me if this process allows you to easily unbrand (e.g. remove the orange logo/animation?) - I have watched the video and the branding still appears present - is there a further process?

TIA

I've followed all instructions and everything is installed fine but i can't download any apps from the android market, every download just sticks at 'Starting download' i've looked on google and tried clearing cache etc but no different.

Any idea anyone?

I've had mine set to never sleep since i had it, and have done with all android phones i've had, and have never experienced this disconnection thing you speak of with my san fran, only ever got this with the xperia x10 and x10 mini, which were on 1.6. And it's more than likely not a hardware issue, more likely to do with android, as i'm pretty sure i remember it being an issue with desires when they first came out, which was then resolved after an update.

I hope it's a software issue and can be fixed because it's starting bug me now

Just wanted to say RavemasterX - you legend!

For anyone having problems with it sticking at the Orange screen - don't download the ROM with Google Chrome/Firefox. Use Internet Explorer. I've been trying for the past 4 hours to fix this and that's what done it.

So glad it's done now, but the underside of my forefinger and thumb nails are killing from removing the battery cover so much!

Thank the Lord for that one - I don't use ie unless absolutely necessary - and having lost an ENTIRE NIGHT and most of this morning trying to get my SF working again, this nugget was a god-send.

Anyway - now it's up and running I thought I'd connect it to work's Exchange box rather than the nast Samsung Omnia Pro they've given us and, BANG!, stuffed again as there is an ActiveSync client but it doesn't seem to support encryption/password security/remote wipe (at least one of them) - it works on my 2.1 HTC Hero (and did with previous custom ROMS).

Paul - any chance you'll be looking at something like this for R3? Great work on R2 though, phone's working well and looking forward to losing the Orange logo :)

Hi everyone. I'm totally new to Android and bought the SF on Friday after reading through this thread. Its unlocked and rooted following advice and links on this forum - thanks!!

BUT, I just wanted to know one thing. I've installed alot of apps from the market and ringtones etc.. If I flash with the MCR, will it loose these or my wallpaper etc?

Thanks for your time - and thanks to Paul who I think everyone reading this should buy a beer for. What a top bloke you are!

Thanks Paul - have followed that but, as we use SSL and have to accept password protection (it won't accept the grid 'password' protection) then there's something that Seven can't do (looking at the errors I'm getting).

It's a real pain in the proverbial as the Hero does it perfectly well on 2.1 but then I guess it's just a more capable device - I REALLY wanted to be able to use the SF for work - guess I'll just unlock it and use it as my personal phone instead (on o2).

You do great work man - wish I had at least a little skill and was able to help you out a little (is there an SDK anywhere for this?) :)

Maybe the Froyo update will help you when it does appear... unfortunately I don't think we can port just HTC's Exchange client to stock Android [easily].

Is anyone else's notification light (green flashing back key) only on when the screen is powered on? Any chance this behaviour could be changed to always be on? Also massively impressed with how good the custom rom is already! If ZTE would just make a qwerty version of this phone it'd be christmas come early.

If the screen is off and I get a text, email etc then the green light flashes.

Yeah it does flash in fact, i take it back. I've just been trying it out and it seems to behave a bit more oddly with the screen off. As in the gaps between flashing seem sporadic at times. Dunno why i thought it wasn't flashing before.
