Stupid question, ADB works ok for you all on alpha 3 of this build ? Seems my usual methods on Linux do not work for me . always results in device not found .. Wondered if ADB is disabled out the box regardless of the gui thinking its enabled. Connecting phone to system shows in dmesg that it detects removable disk and when i enable mass storage it mounts fine, just ADB is problematic ..weird.

EDIT : - Ignore that Q, adb works fine in OSX, seems my linux is playing silly buggers ..

Seems this is a known issue, workaround is to use the pattern lock screen from security in settings, ive not seen a hang yet with this.

It has still locked up for me when using the pattern lock. Last was this morning. I assume that it is a process using all the cpu. My phone was fully charged and working when I left home this morning. At the office 1.5 hours later it was locked up. After restarting the battery was showing 76% - 10 hours later, with only occasional email use, it is showing 68%.

Before with the previous rom I was using I could at least get a GPS signal even if it was in the wrong place. Now I get nothing with or without Wifi and have tried downloading GPS status and playing around with the settings. I'm on Vodafone can anyone help?

Hi,

I don't know if it's a coincidence (the last few times I had to use GPS, the weather was very cloudy and this can affect locking times), since I install R4 my GPS applications are taking a bit more time (minutes) to lock.

I used to have sebastians rom, but I needed a2sd, and since Paul delivers that as an option in the kitchen, I started using this version. But I remember to have an almost instant lock when I entered the GPS's applications.

Hey Paul, are you going to support this rom on the TFT devices ? I would love to have this piece of great work on my phone, since i dont relate very well to other roms. I like it very stockish lol

Hi, im getting this ZTE Blade phone. Problem is its a slightly customized finnish operator (Saunalahti) phone. It has TFT screen instead of amoLED(?) and 5mpix camera. I have heard results of putting Modaco rom inside and having problems (screen freeze, too small icons etc. because of the different drivers i suppose.

So is there a slight possibility to create a custom rom for us? :)

If you need some ROM dump i can provide it on next week.

This ROM is for OLED-screened phones, Finnish ones got TFT.

And ROM-dumb from original Saunalahti is already atleast 8 places on this forum.

My WiFi keeps disconnecting after some minutes of work. What's the matter? I don't know whether this problem presented on the original stock firmware, but it does present in MCR.

I've got the stock ROM on my week old San Frans, after reading lots of comments on the various ROMS, this one seems the most stable (?).

Anyway, mines a grey TFT, is it safe to flash this onto it, or should I just wait for Paul to update it R5 (not sure when that'll come).

I'm getting twitchy, just wanna flash it to something stable without the Orange cr*pware.

No! currently this is OLED only (saying that it probably wouldn't damage the phone)

we have to wait until R5 :)

everything works very good but! when phone goes to screen time out, it newer comes back :/ i mean u can press anything but display doesn't light up.Only way to get it work is by taking battery out and turning it back on. Could anyone please help me? Thanks in advance :) btw now i`v set screen timeout to 30 minutes lol.

I am on Orange and as the sim lock dissabled when I alpha3-4'd the rom I tried a 3 sim and have the same problem. GPS will not find position. Where ya at Paul? Help us out mate. :)

To those having a problem getting a data connection with r4:

Get the apns-conf.xml from alpha3-update-modacocustomrom-blade-kitchen-unsigned.zip, it's in /system/etc/

Overwriting the one in r4 worked for me on Orange payg.

I've just installed this rom from the Online Kitchen and was looking for a big app to see whther the A2SD was woking properly, so went looking for Google Earth.

It's not there.

Shows up fine on my Desire, but even linking to it from appbrain brings up item cannot be found.

Any ideas how to get this to show up? And possibly other missing apps?

You will get messed up colors and once the phone goes into standby the only way to get it out again is to remove the battery + many other issues probably.

Use clockwork to perform a backup :). You will then be able to do a complete restore of your current setup.
