I found this on the Swedish forums with the name Swedroid

Android 2.2 Froyo for the U8500 but it seems they have use the U8150 rom

But i can't test it for my little sisters phone is broke the digitizer is smashed so i have to get a new one from China

Hi i have put the new firmware on my phone, the U8500V100R001C00B259. but now, the WLAN doesn't work. Theatering still works :S Can i doe something without flash the rom? Must i make a Goldcart? if not, how can i flash it?

hmmm i flashed it on but no result, didnt boot up (vibrate once and buttons lighted for a while.

Maybe something needs to be done to get it work but i will not try, running back on 2.1:/

But if someone has ANY IDEA how to get Froyo to U8500 PLEEES PLEEES LET ME KNOW!!!

This is how I got FroYo running on my U8500. It supports many languages, among those swedish =)

Download the FroYo beta firmware from Huaweis homepage:

Unzip. You will se 4 files - find the largest FroYo and unzip this one aswell. Copy the dload folder to the root of your SD card. Turn of phone. Press hang up key + volume up and hit power. The FroYo is being flashed. At the end it will say update failed. Wait a bit and then pull out the battery. Put the battery in again and start the phone. The first start will tak like 5 minutes so WAIT. Now when the phone starts your on FroYo ;-)

and it worked!!!!!, :D running on 2.2.1 now :D cuuuuuuuul :) real big thnx man!! and everything seems to work, even zroot worked and got it rooted, so super!

thats nice,can u kindly please show me how to do it? i recently bought this phone,it is running in chinese firmware,i want to change it to english version,, how do i do it?iam completely new to android OS,have been using symbian OS and did hack my phone on symbian seriess..

just brought new huawei u8500 running on 2.2 froyo. Is it possible to have emotion UI in 2.2 or is there any way to chnage back to android 2.1 without rooting

pls help..
