Installed on Storage Card, everything seems to work well, except that sometimes i cant connect to wlan(unable to start wlan), and after few restarts wlan comes back again. Is there any solution for this to avoid restarts?

Hi All,

I was wondering, did anyone try/succeed installing a AnySoft or other keyboard?

I've tried to install AnysoftKeyboard and it was installed, I've tried to enable it via Settings->Language & keyboard by checking the checkbox right to the keyboard name, but my input was still by AndroidKeyboard.

Moreover, there was no checkbox next to AndroidKeyboard that could enable/disable it.

Thanks,

You need to push and hold the icon on the bottom left of the keyboard and select your other keyboard. I think the icon is yeelow and will bring up an options list. I have installed and setup swype so it def works

If you have not tried the original o2b2filesys package

then try a fresh install with that, follow by the 2011-02-10 bugfix

follow by the 2d/3d update.

Other things that I did, with my SD card

From WINMO

Mount SD card as storage

Still running WINMO, connect phone to Ubuntu machine, run

sudo -s (do this once then you dont have to worry about sudo for each following command)

gparted

Delete all partitions on SD card, /dev/sdd

Then create two partitions as follow

1st primary partition size 2047 FAT32

2nd primary partition size 2047 EXT2

then (fdisk -l to list all available partitions)

mount /dev/sdd1 /media/disk1

mount /dev/sdd2 /media/disk2

Extract haret.exe. default.txt, zImage, and o2bete (for completeness) from the o2b2filesys on to disk1

Extract on to disk2 the rest of the packages in the order outlined earlier.

Then

sync;sync;sync

umount /media/disk*

that were all I did, it works everytime now, root et all.

Thanks but I think I'll wait for next beta.. am using another calculator from market.

I downloaded and installed Advanced Task Manager Free from market and I start it when beta2 just boots ok. Then I see email, messages, clock, etc applications already running. Are they expected to load on boot?

does swype work with speech to text? I haven't yet found any way of doing speech to text for input fields.

Not sure but haven't tried. Come to think of it I haven't even explored or noticed text to speech with all the other distractions

Great work...love my Omnia2 now :D Windows sucks..

Couldn't download from market ("starting download") like many others..and google solutions didn't work. had to create a new google account, worked then :D

I solved this problem this way:

- Restart phone

- Run Haret

- Open Market, go to downloads and cancel download

- Click Download again

- It begins downloading

I don't know how or why, but it does work for me.

Greetings.

Again for all the people suffering from Sleep of Death:

Install SetCPU, configure it to not go lower than 133 MHz and put it in conservative mode.

Since I've done this, I haven't even single Sleep of death, neither freeze or spontaneous reboot.

16h since unplugged and I'm on 23%. Used to wake me up today morning and for some music and try of the GPS. Still the most consumption comes from Cell standby.

OK, another little update.

Last post I described the boot-ups during setup of my most recent installation. On the fourth-boot everything seemed to be running fine. It ran for just around/over 24 hours; I fell asleep with it on charge last night, and woke-up to the sound of the Windows Mobile alarm - so Android must've rebooted at some point.

I booted up again, but Android crashed when I unlocked it. Next time I had sleep of death. After that it ran OK for a little while; but now sleep of death is definitely back.

I can't reinstall again until I'm back from work, but I will, and maybe will have a go with the CPU libs above ^^^ Maybe behaviour will change...

Rob.

EDIT: Has anyone got any ideas about using flash-optimised filesystem? (Do we know if our kernel supports any?) Perhaps there is a way to build a YAFFS(2) image or something like that?

Gruven sorry but i can not download and i dont understand so good russian .

Please make onother link .

I used Google Translate to get to the post with the link: HERE - but there's a 404 when I click it; I can't imagine a 404 would be displayed if it's just hidden from guests?

To have a look at the page in Google Translate (you can choose your language at the top of the screen):

Hi, first of all, thanks for the beta. I've been waiting for this for so long that I only got to check this recently. Anyways, I'm not sure if it has been posted here already but I have a problem with the installation. The first time I did it, I had no problems creating the partition, etc. But when I ran haret.exe from My Storage, it won't boot up Android as listed in Post #8. So I did the entire thing again.

I reformatted my SD card and when I run haret.exe from o2beta, I get the error message that "Partition 1 is already defined, delete it before re-adding"

I get a "Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!" message and my phone reboots. Help on this one! I tried to check if there is a partition in My Storage, i found it to be not formatted. I delete the partition to get back the free space but now I can't merge it back to the rest of My Storage. Btw, I'm using Paragon Partition Manager for this one.

EDIT: Oh yeah, the message "Not enough space on SD card..." also appears despite having the card formatted via Samsung settings.

i got a question about this particular part:

"Open MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition, select the Storage device Samsung and delete the partition->then click create and create 1020 Mb(in my case of 2 GB Internal Storage) FAT 32 partition(give it a name like disk0 without space),there will be left about 1 GB unallocated storage->select right button, click create partition format EXT2 (or EXT3) with a name like disk and select APPLY!->your My Storage will be formatted!!!you will see only 1 GB Storage device in My Computer in Windows."

So, that means my whole My Storage will be limited to 1020 MB? I will loose all of my 8GB storage ?

In case anybody else gets the "Unable to scan for networks" message, I was able to solve the issue by removing /data/misc/wifi/bcm_supp.conf, which clears all remembered networks and passwords.

Steps:

Get a terminal from the market like "Terminal Emulator" and start it then type in the next commands:

su

cd /data/misc/wifi

rm bcm_supp.conf

Reboot Android and wifi should work again.

ne, kreirat ces od 8 GB (koje imas normalno) 2GB FAT32, 2GB ext2 (ili ext3, ja sam kreirao ext2) i ostat ce ti 3,nesto GB unlocated + 0,5 GB (za WM). to bi sve trebao vidjeti. Znaci kreiras FAT32, ext2 (ili ext3) i ostane ti nelocirano oko 3,5 GB + 0,5GB za WM. :D

Sorry for lenguage...mate from my country! :D

Tryed this on T*Omnia II koreean version. No chance to work. Got Kernel panic - not syncing: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel. after first boot. Mounting SDCARD in Linux and starting Gparted got me to the point that second partition with all android files is gone and formated to FAT32 ( by the phone i think on card insertion) so at the and i have 1st primary partition size 2047 FAT32 with haret.exe, default.txt and zImage and 2 nd primary partition size 2047 FAT32 with a system folder on it created again, i supose by phone. Get me mad. Only working version it wos omlaxy 0.2 with works with a rootfs.img filesystem like on HTC HD2. Any ideeas on how het this particular type of Omnia II to work with Android?
