Guest forajido Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 How do i unistall Launcher pro? Anybody knows? With RootExplorer (not last version but an older one, as last update won't give root access): 1º Open RootExplorer 2º Go to /System/App folder 3º Select app you want to uninstall 4º Click "Move" and paste in /Data/App 5º Close RootExplorer 6º Reboot phone 7º Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications 8º Select application and click Uninstall Easy and safe.
Guest stu_2k1 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 i got the same error. Does anyone can solve that error (i dont need to reformat partition & reinstall on ext2 ). Thank in advance. just what it says no init found - this means the 'init' was not found this means the settings in the default.txt are wrong or the filesystem has been currupted. in the android-rootfs is a file called 'init' in the default.txt stands something like: Set CMDLINE "rootdelay=2 root=/dev/mmcblk1p2 init=/init" so this line means: wait two seconds before going to the rooft-fs the rootfs is on mmc-blockdevice 1 partition 2 and then use the file 'init' for further instructions and now the circle closes ... on mmc-blockdevice 1 (usualy the storagecard) on partition 2 was no file called 'init' found. thus wrong partition .... or broken filesystem - (most of the time the problem isn't the filesystem) you simply have to set the right partiton on the right blockdevice, +1 :D hi guys, I had the same issue. It only resolved itself after i re-flashed my phone with I8000NXJJ1. Im going to do some more testing tonight.

Guest kydkylin Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 (edited) Another way to backup your ext2/ext3 partition of My Storage: 1.The phone OS should be in Windows Mobile.Choose Big Memory Storage USB mode and select My Storage; 2.Plug the phone to your PC; 3.Download and run Ghost32 11.0 in PC; 4.In Ghost32, choose Local->Partition->To Image; 5.Then choose the "My Storage" disk, then OK; 6.Choose your ext2/ext3 partition, then OK; 7.Choose where you want to place the backup.GHO, OK and then you'll get a full backup.GHO of your ext2/ext3 partition. :D For recovery, you could also use the Ghost32 11.0 with the backup.GHO and it's very easy to do so. It could be easy to find information about ghost32 11.0 with Google: ghost32 11.0 PS: You should be careful to choose disk and partition in Ghost32. And you'd better be familiar with it in case it erase your partition or so on. But once you're familiar with it, you'll find it very easy to use. :D Edited February 16, 2011 by kydkylin

Guest alen147 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Is there only a 1024mb Beta2, because I have a 1GB SD card amd I can't find a 512mb version on the download site?
Guest kydkylin Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Is this a way that I can connect my PC and android? Nope。 All work is done when you are in Windows Mobile, not Android. Just another way of backup and recovery. For connect your Android with PC you still need the adb and such things. There could be something useful for you: http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-omnia-...e-omnia-2-info/

Yes, but if you manually partition the sd card, and copy the content of the ext2.tar.gz to the new (ext2/3) partition, it will work.

Guest problematika Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 When I use this line: adb push filename folder (-> Send file from Windows to android, to the specified folder) for example, i cannot find this file on my phone. adb push method man - bring the pain(name of file which i want to send into my phone) storage(name of file in my phone)...what should I work? :D
Guest kr3at0r88 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 (edited) hmmm... why doesn't anyone use the modified sd.cpio.gz made by the devs? which is capable of installing to My storage or SD card ? here is the link to it: http://code.google.com/p/omnia2droid/downl...name=sd.cpio.gz and instructions on how to use it written by the developers them selfs: If you want to install to my storage, or if you don't have my storage, or you don't have SD card, you can download modified installer from downloads section of this site. This file is for 1 GB install only. It will install with 1 GB partition whether you used beta1024.zip or beta512.zip. after getting all required files, decide two things. First install FROM "My storage" or "SD Card", second install TO "My storage" or "SD Card". Once you've decided, everything is ready to install android. Install procedures:Put all files in beta1024.zip/beta512.zip to where you want install from. ----> if you want to install to "SD card" from "My storage" ignore next 2 steps.copy modified sd.cpio.gz file(the one from this site) in newly created o2beta folder.if you want to install to my storage, create a file named "installinternal" without quotes, all lower case. put it in where you want to install from. Files contents are not important, a simple text file will work, just don't forget deleting the extension.in windows mobile, using a file explorer enter o2beta folder, run haret.exe. Press run in haret window. After that install process will turn off windows mobile. Installer seems stopped on two points. Shrinking partitons and creating new one step, and untar ext2.tar.gz step. Be patience, it supposed to take some time. After untarring step, you should see a kernel panic and restarting in 30 seconds. This is not a problem. After starting windows mobile again, put 2d/3d binaries update (it should be a file named "o2bupdate.tar.gz")in my storage, than enter disk of your opened beta files, there is another haret.exe apart from the one in o2beta folder. This is the file starts Android, you can delete o2beta folder from your phone for disk space.Run haret, and click on run.android will boot for first time. It will take long, for this time only. When Android starts, it will ask for a action, select default action. Other one needs internet connection, doesn't lets skipping and some times even after adding google account it starts over forever.after adding accounts, and setting time, you have first version of android on omniaII project. You can use it, but there is updates with some critical fixes, so keep going.restart your phone with press and hold lockscreen button, and select power off. Than start windows mobile normally.when windows boots up, extract all files from o2droid.zip to "my storage" than start haret again. If you want to use 2g/3g/edge, enter settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks > access point names. press cube button, click new APN. Enter your providers settings. after settings, press cube again, click save APN. You should be in same menu, select new created APN. In task bar you will see data symbol ( 3g/E etc ).Everything is ready for use, enjoy I have used it with no problems. Thanks devs and were waiting for a new release. Guest turnado1979 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 hi The sleep problem is still exists, so be patient, I think the devs working hard to make it perfect :D sorry for the rush .. that bcos i found some solution somewhere in the forum but did not work with me any how: is there is any working way to root my O2 without Linux (my installation on SD)?
Guest alen147 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Since I have a 1GB card can I copy the files from BETA2 folder to SD card, run haret.exe from there and install it to My Storage? Will haret create a partition in My Storage? And do I need to install the first BETA and then the BETA2? I'm a beginner at this, so sorry. I wanna get it working in the next hour.

It is modified by Doombringer to support automatic install from SD to SD for users who don't have MyStorage in winmo and are not familiar with linux. The modified version is also is capable of automatic install to MyStorage. Install to MyStorage is not officially supported because it is still a beta and things may go wrong. So install to MyStorage is only advised for experts who want to most out of it (mixed sounds if it is superior to sd install for performance and/or stability).
