what do you mean by "fs"?

You mean you have exactly your old settings, applications, etc...but on ext4?

How did you do it?

Changing sdb1 from ext3->ext4 in ubuntu terminal

# cd /; umount /dev/sdb1

# tune2fs -O extents,uninit_bg,dir_index /dev/sdb1

Next run fsck, enter:

# fsck -pf /dev/sdb1

where sdb1 is the drive you are converting

I'm not really good at this, but would it help if the devs would make a new BETA working on ext4? Or someone to put all into one post.

tune2fs -O extents,uninit_bg,dir_index /dev/sdb1

i change to sdb2 coz my ext3 partition is located there..

after that line i got this error

"tune2fs 1.41.12 (17-May-2010)

tune2fs: Permission denied while trying to open /dev/sdb2

Couldn't find valid filesystem superblock."

give

fsck /dev/sdbZ

and give y and enter

after each question to fix

I have just changed to ext4 - it ROOOCKS.

It is really fast, much better than ext2 or 3, I/O around 900. All I have to do is apply key layout update.

Thank You all!
