Guest Sinistersky Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 (edited) ok..tried to install kpgs package on sd card and created ext4 myself...but it gives some strange errors... Oh and, just to ask a question here about battery... Is this how the battery will stay or do you have plans on improving battery life? Do you have ideas for it? Edited March 12, 2011 by Sinistersky
Guest max126 Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 Thanks both, I already made one call that last more than 2min, so I guess that the problem is solved. Again thanks a lot for the quick answer.
Guest Leeds Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 (edited) Just be patient, I am also one of the few 1gb sd card users here that hope they make a 512mb beta2 pack too :( I really don't mind that we have to go through the whole proccess of installing the updates from beta1 but I hate doing that and while installing one of them, getting some random error on android boot that forces me to start all over again.. :D Anyway.. guys, I need some help from whoever fixed this.. I am getting 50% time out of signal though I am always with maximum signal on my network. I know, I know.. here comes one more guy complaining about the battery.. Don't worry, I won't, I just want to try every possible fix for this since the rest is pretty much perfect for me :( So, I've read some of you guys fixed it by using *#*#4636#*#* and changing to "GSM only" or whatever your network is.. but my battery still drains very fast after that.. I am using 2G only. SetCPU doesn't help either.. (So I uninstalled, after that I didn't get any more SOD..) I am out of ideas.. With airplane mode I get -10% every 5 hours use wich is awesome. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect my battery to last 50 hours while on GSM but I would hope for at least 10.. :D Right now I get about 5hours Any help is welcome Thanks Edited March 12, 2011 by Leeds
Guest shoarmabakpao Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 (edited) So far my android has been running for 36 hours without an crash. My battery lasts VERY LONG! I have been playing Pokemon Ruby on gameboid emulator with max brightness for over 4 hours! Used WiFi for 20minutes (WiFi uses ALOT battery!) ehmmm, played tony hawk pro skater 2 on gameboid emulator (works very well!!!) No lag, very fast. Even faster then an iPhone 3G when starting app's and browsing the web!! Emulator's work very well, I really love it! My battery is now at 66% (21:33 time) In the morning it was 69% (around 10:00) I used it only to check the battery % and the time for today. I use SD card class 6 2GB (it's almost 5 years old!) ext2 partition. EDIT: Settings-> Where the battery has been used for-> it states android system 48%, Cell standby 25%, phone idle 25%, gallery 3% Edited March 12, 2011 by shoarmabakpao

The drivers and install metod dont make so much importance. Shoarmabakpao, can you please relate your ROM versions? Edited March 12, 2011 by slmz

Guest shoarmabakpao Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 where'd you get the eboot and csc ? I flashed my phone once with an HTC sense 2.5 rom and then I messed something up and lost the HTC Sence 2.5 feel but I did not reflash it. It's somewhere at MoDaCo at windows mobile samsung gt 8000 section. Try to use the search function if it works. I remember again that I flashed the first my full phone but wasn't able to make phone call's so reflashed only the phone part (I think that's CSC) with dutch chosen from the drop down menu and that's also how I lost my HTC Sense 2.5 theme of it :D

Guest Leeds Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 (edited) Wait, does the battery life on Android has anything to do with the ROM we use on our Windows Mobile? I am no expert but that really doesn't sound right.. :D Anyway.. My Android dies after ~6 hours Windows Mobile 6.5 PDA: I8000NXXJE3 CSC: (not showing, but I flashed my old CSC, so it should be: I8000LZTAIJ2) :( PHONE: I8000LUTIJ2 If anyone tests the same CSC/Phone part that shoarmabakpao uses, I would like to know if there is really any difference on battery life :( Edited March 12, 2011 by Leeds

Maybe some drives depends of others to work properly in hardware. Like we see in WinMo power management set, if you dont put in hight or auto it influence not running android.
