I have tested MyLockGuard again and realy this app prevent the phone sleep, and drain batt is high. Some like 5% per hour. And again when tried disable it, phone freezes. However I only can say that it happens in "my phone" since each phone responds from different way.

A respect of freezes it happens to me almost always in configuration menu, in act of return in boring button camera.

Launcher Pro is the winner for me! :D Tried ADW launcher - not so fast as LP, a bit of laggy; TouchWiz - too "heavy", low amount of free RAM; Go Launcher EX - got a second place, but sometimes laggy, memory consuption is almost like at Launcher Pro, but still a little bit slower then LP! So LP is best option for our (my!) O2! :D

YOU GUYS ROCK!

This update is really something.

THE RADIO IS FINALLY RUNNING WITH SCREEN IN STANDBY!!!

Music also.

And the radio sensitivity and sound are better then WM.

I have also sudden freeze when browsing the menus and then press camera button quickly. Maybe devs will find a solution for this one also.

Do you mean FM Radio audio is working even in standby? Mine doesn't, audio will be muted when the screen goes blank, I have to go out of standby, then change to speaker mode in FM radio to get audio back.

My phone disable FM with sleep too. I solve it with keepScreen app. But, click in FM at keepScreen setup before open FM app, otherwise you need reboot phone.

My Radio and Player work in background with black screen.

As far as I remember it worked in the same way even before 0319 update.

the random freezes are driving me up the wall.i noticed that most of the freezes occured while i pressed the back button a little quickly.anyone're experiencing the same problem?

it looks like the freezes are not so random.the phone always freezes with the use of the Back button, not when i press other buttons.this issue alone prevent me using Android on a daily basis, while everything else are working perfectly!hope someone can sort it out!

Well, today i tested stand by for a whole day... 24 hours time period...and battery is now on 68% with 2g on

Also, tested yesterday with usage ( intense usage, 3g, music playing for 8 hours, gaming for 1 hour ) and the battery lasted 16 hours with no problems...had 15% after 18 hours...wich is awesome

Hi, kind to share your installation method and setting, your battery last longer than mine, I manually installed in EXT4 in My Storage with latest updates. I installed o2b2filesys first then update patches one by one to the latest.

my setup:

- format ext4 on ubuntu with disk utility and remove "take ownership" option

- install beta2 on my storage

- install 3d package

- install accelerometer package

- copy zimage from the latest kernel to my storage

run haret.exe and install setCPU, callLight, Advanced task killer, and several photo editing apps.

finding:

*standby with 2G only, background sync ON, location and GPS turned OFF, battery usage about 10% in 4 hours

*camera not working

*set the CPU from 66 - 800 I got SOD, set to 133 - 800 fixed this issue

I have no problem using radio or music either if I let the screen to go to sleep or if I press the sleep button. The radio continues to work normal like in WM.

Maybe it is because of LockGuard. I didn't tried without it.

Try and see.

If you have read everything then chances are installing Android isn't suitable for you. There are sooooo many guides that show step by step. If you have searched and still don't understand then give this a miss. If you have not searched or looked at how to install then best to start searching because its easy to find.

Having read every single post in this thread before making my very first post ever on this forum just a few days ago and having been a member since 2007 (loooooong time reader first time poster) I think my answer might be helpful...

At the top of the page there is a 'Search' button... click it then click 'more search options'

In the page that now opens write your query in the 'search by keywords box'... for instance 'install guide'

Then in the 'search where' list scroll down to select 'i8000 Omnia II Android ROM Discussion'...

Now over on the right click the 'show results as posts' check dot

and finally click 'Perform the search'...

Read through the 3 pages that come up and I'm certain you will find what you are looking for :D

So after my new installation I want to share my experience.

My installation has been done on My Storage with 1GB ext4 partition, beta2 with the slmz update pack (thanks again).

Until this point everything was working fluently and as expected (sensors, battery live, etc.)

After I installed the MUST have programs like KeepScreen, Launcher Pro, Home Switcher (and of course the Market update).

I didn't notice the advantages of the Mylock Guard so I removed it.

After I installed the Fancy Widget, Elixir, Smartkeyboard Pro, Android Task Killer and some other programs.

In Android Task Killer I put to ignore all my programs that I use on daily basis or I need (like KeepScreen, the widgets, the alarm program).

And after a day I'm with a 25 MB of free memory which is very close to the minimum used by Android before to start kill (or suspend) programs.

Because of this I had many slow-downs and restarts of the widgets and Launcher Pro itself. The usage of browser or messenger was leading to reload the home screen ...

So my conclusion is that we desperately need a solution for gentle memory optimization (not the rude Android Task Killer). If you have some experience, pls share it !

From the disadvantages of my setup I can mention:

- SoD after a day and a half of usage (I didn't use any programs to control the CPU speed so expected flaw)

- the lack of memory after a day (started with 70 MB free and finished with 25-30 with no programs running except in the Ignore list of Android Task Killer)

- the need of 2-3 times pressing hang-up button to unlock

- sometime the WiFi isn't connecting

The advantages:

- the battery live is very good in standby (8:30 hours in standby and 10% of battery gone)

- no need of playing with 2G and Airplane mode for better battery live

- the compass isn't sticking any more

- the GPS even being less sensitive from WinMo is fixing signal

- very rare SoD

- good result in Quadrant ~290 despite the 2D/3D Rapid's drivers giving below average results (in fact I see no big difference in the programs)

it looks like I get more and more freezes when using the "back" camera button. And it is not just by quick pressing. Today I have waited at least two seconds before I pushed the camera button. It acts the same. From time to time it freezes my phone and I have to remove the battery.

very good results, wish i had the same. are you using 3G or not at all? reason i'm asking is that beta2 + slmz's update pack (which is great) doesn't contain the Feb 10 3G DNS update, so at least on my phone, 3G doesn't work, and it doesn't drain as much battery.
