Android on Omnia II - i8000 (18.04.2011)

I followed all the steps and the first boot kernel panic not syncing vfs unable to mount root fs on unknow block (0,0)

Check in gparted in ubuntu what your sdb_ partition ext4, it must be edit in defaul.txt with same number in line CMDLINE "rootdelay=2 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 init=/init" this exemple is for sdb2.

why doesn't kpg700 package 3.2 got past the boot up screen? i am using my storage ext4 and haret from original beta2, and zimage from latest update...

Mine does boot and work as smooth as butter

BUT I do got a problem, I don't got a button assigned to the home-key

I got 2 back-buttons and 0 home keys

So browsing the web is kinda hard :D

EDIT: Also I think I can't charge on KGP's extreme smooth repack but as he already said (I think) it's because the charging is reversed so I think I would never be able to charge with KGP's amazing repack's =(

wtf..why doesn't it work here..i properly untared the ext2.tar.gz into ext3 partition and changed it to ext4...and it won't go past the boot screen.... why? :D

open kgp package with 7zip and open system/usr/keylayout/ and delete s3c-keypad.kl file also open system/usr/keychars and delete s3c-keypad-kcm.bin

also replace the three file in keylayout folder (AVRCP.KL , QWERTY.KL , S3C-KEYPAD-REV0020.KL ) with the files in the last update (19-3)

then save your work on 7zip

and install android

everything will work like before

Ok here it goes, this is what I did to make it work properly :D

My install is on an SD Card (format first!, look at help topic on how to properly format!)

What I did was is download the package that KGP posted and download the other update that he mentioned in the same post which has an zImage in it

You WILL need that zImage because you need to replace the zImage with the 2 zImage's in KGP's post (one in 02beta folder and the other zImage is at the root)

You will also need an haret.exe from the beta2 pack of the download site of the dev's! (http://o2droid.phj.hu/index_en.php) and put the haret.exe from the beta2 pack into KGP's pack. I only did this for the haret.exe at the root of mystorage NOT with the one in the 02beta folder

Now that you have everything at the correct place (done on the desktop for ease!) you will have to drag and drop it to the root of your My Storage (which is on your phone! NOT SD CARD!!!)

You will have at the root of My Storage the following files;

default.txt, ext2.tar.gz, haret.exe, zImage (zImage is from the update file which I mentioned earlier this post!) AND an folder named o2beta (which has default.txt, haret.exe, sd.cpio and zImage (zImage from the update file which I mentioned earlier this post!)

Just run haret.exe from 02beta folder and it will do everything for you. After it's done it'll reboot into windows mobile.

Now run haret.exe from the root of MyStorage and you will be booting android 2.1! (KGP's pack, it also has a cool black'ish theme on it! :()

EDIT2: I deleted the note because of bad feedback

Do it at your own risk! (there sould be no risk at all of failing I think because it did work on my O2 :D)

Hello , i use android , very stable and good; Battery went dow from 88% to 84% in standby from about 8 hours, seems good i think.

Is there somebody who hase try to install SPB MOBILE SHELL 5 on it. I have try, but i didn't do it wright i think.

It's on my home launcher but it gives an error. So if there is anybody who has got it working please let me know.

k..so i replaced the files...and made a new ext2.tar.gz...but get a wierd error when starting...kpg700 can you please make a pack that will work properly on european omnias?

I have first install beta2 from 11/02/11, then i have instal 3d lib from rapid and then i have instal the new kernel and modules 19/03/11.

I have it instal on my storage with ubuntu , not on my sd card.

And it works very stable and good, the camera doesn't work, i think that this is not fixed yet.

Good that you were 1 step ahead of me. I already put that on my 'how-to' guide but i'll remove it now.

I didn't try to change my keylayout because I went to have dinner, now that I am back and read this I won't change the keylayout myself anymore.

You can still update to KGP's package with my guide if you want to, because my set-up is working already with no problems at all (except for the charging issue but I can bear with that)

Did you drink? :mellow::D We cant boot KGP700 pack because we got that error advice, not because I try some different keylayout ... :D I tried install it directly in my storage ext4 partition like I always made before.

there is two replicated files in the modelus folder (xt_TCPMSS.ko , xt_MARK.ko)

on 7zip rename this files to anything. for example (xt_TCPMSS.k , xt_MARK.k) before my steps

then do my steps and exchange or delete the files that i mentioned before

then rename the two files in the modelus folder to it's original name again (xt_TCPMSS.ko , xt_MARK.ko)

then save your work on 7zip.

KGP, can we get the newly optimized &changed files ,, is it the system folder & Modules

Bcoz ,, what i did previously: i have deleted the system folder & replaced it with urs ,, together with the tweaks u advised to change in some files ( init.rc , propel,,,)

so i got a stable android with good batery life & no SOD

So i m asking if it works with this version ,,
