Taking system from spica isn't good idea, because they have to much things hardcoded in libraries or binaries. We have working Froyo compiled from sources, but to unstable (altough fast) now for making it next beta. Status is:

- phone is working

- wifi is working

- sensors are working

- some problems with 2D/3D drivers

- movies aren't playing out of the box

thanks dev team

maybe next omnia2 android beta froyo is based SamdroidMod 2.0.1.alpha.8.5 - Froyo ? -> it's samdroid 8.5?

EXT4 + FS (kpg700/neok_om2android_beta2p_ver32stts) + kernel 1903 (for European Omnia 2) => file image fs.iso

1) download http://www.multiupload.com/FPZ86ULH0T (200M)

2) unpack iso_kor.rar (500M) to Storage Card :

\Storage Card\iso\fs.iso

\Storage Card\iso\haret.exe

\Storage Card\iso\sd.cpio.gz

\Storage Card\iso\default.txt

\Storage Card\iso\zImage

3) Start \Storage Card\iso\haret.exe

OR

2) unpack iso_kor.rar to My Storage :

\My Storage\iso\fs.iso

\My Storage\iso\haret.exe

\My Storage\iso\default.txt

\My Storage\iso\zImage

3) download sd0.cpio.gz

4) copy sd0.cpio.gz to \My Storage\iso\sd.cpio.gz

5) change in \My Storage\iso\default.txt : Set initrd sd.cpio.gz to Set initrd sd0.cpio.gz

6) Start \My Storage\iso\haret.exe

good luck!

P.S.

For change fs.iso from Linux:

( if

set in phone "USB FLASH MODE"

connect phone to PC

mount phone to /mnt/sd0

then: )

#losetup /dev/loop6 /mnt/sd0/iso/fs.iso

#fsck /dev/loop6

#mkdir /sd3

#mount /dev/loop6 /sd3

........

change

........

#umount /sd3

#losetup -d /dev/loop6

#umount /mnt/sd0

i think this just made my day... xD although would love that the next beta is froyo since users can help to improve it even further ( Rapid and kpg700)

Could you explain how it works? is this a new method of running android on our Omnia? does that mean it's no longer necessary to create a linux partition and untar ext2.tar to it first?

no, is this a BAK method of running android on our Omnia (To remember alpha)

yes, no "create a linux partition", no "untar ext2.tar to it first"

upack iso_kor.rar and run

I gave it a try, installed smoothly, russian language, easily changed it to english. Keylayout is changed, wifi worked ok, managed to sync my account, easily. Hard to wake it up, need a combination of keys to manage it. Nice theme though....

Do we have to delete the old linux partition, or can we leave it?

PS: it works. This is great. Thank you very much.

Hi everyone!

I had instaled this:

EXT4 + FS (kpg700/neok_om2android_beta2p_ver32stts) + kernel 1903 (for European Omnia 2) => file image fs.iso

But unfortunately my time zone is wrong and when I go to the settings I can't change it.

Can anyone tell me how can I solve this problem?

Thanks for the attention

But unfortunately my time zone is wrong and when I go to the settings I can't change it.

download GSM/TIME/path , o2b2update.sh

and change in SQL request .... set value=1 where name = 'auto_time';

to '0'

and running in terminal emulator

or

copy to fat (root) and reboot

--------------------------------------

off get time from GSM:

#!/bin/bash

sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db <<!

select * from system where name = 'auto_time';

update system set value = 0 where name = 'auto_time';

!

"4) copy sd0.cpio.gz to \My Storage\iso\sd.cpio.gz" How can I make it??? sd.cpio.gz is not a folder!?
